He's mulling opting out of the $12.6M he's owed next year and is reportedly 100% healthy for the first time in two years. I can't imagine we would be interested with Pekovic, Darko, Cosuins as other options, but FWIW:

His injury history is a bit worrying to me as a Wolves fan and with our current stock of bigs I don't see a potential signing with him being too plausible, but I definitely could see the Thunder splashing on him. Provided they could swing some kind of crazy S&T deal for Bosh or another top-tier PF in addition to Chandler, they would finally be set for bigs.

With that said, didn't OKC pass on him after a trade had already been confirmed? Interesting times.

Interesting but I believe that we will get Cousins and keep him and he'll play center, then re-sign Darko. No need for him unless the Wolves like him more than Darko (which I assume they don't).

I see him in Miami or OKC

Sacramento and OKC both seem like good fits.

I thought he failed a physical so the trade didn't go through, but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't want him here really, injury prone, and he'd pry be a pretty bad fit here offensively.

The other thing working in Chandler's favor is that there aren't really any true centers in free agency this summer and a number of teams with cap space including the Thunder, Knicks, Timberwolves, Wizards and Heat need a center badly.

I love how Ford has the Timberwolves passing on Cousins in his mock draft and then goes on to write this.

I actually would love this move, provided he's healthy. People have been talking about a Darko-Cousins frontcourt....I think a Darko Chandler frontcourt could be just as potent, and would fit even better into our uptempo game.

Yeah, you're probably right, I just couldn't remember the specifics at all.

There's a good reason he's called Tyson Chandelier.
I think he'd be pretty stupid to opt out.
Even with all the teams with cap space, one would be pretty dumb to give him more than the MLE.

It's truly a joke isn't it? He also makes a mention of his off court issues, then goes on a rant about how he didn't "do too bad" in interviews 2 picks down.

I wouldn't mind getting Chandler with a few conditions:

1. The team gets and keeps Cousins. Chandler is almost the polar opposite of him and would bring something different off the bench.
2. He is as healthy as he says, as with Cousins' fouls in college I doubt he'll be getting more then 30 minutes a night and Chandler would need to step up.
3. He doesn't ask for some ridiculous amount of money just because he says he's healthy.

I also doubt the team keeps Darko or Pekovic in this scenario

It might be ok when Rubio gets here, and solid on defense, but without a really strong creator, those two would be painful on offense together.

If he opts out, he must be getting signal that he's worth $7-8M/yr, no? Ford hypothesizes $10M/yr! We probably don't want to invest that much money on a player with so much injury history even if he is only 27.

I'd recommend y'all stay away if it's a multi year deal for more than 2 seasons. He was awful last season.

Just say no to Tyson Chandler. His BBIQ is the poorest of the poor offensively. Darko is a much better option.

He's not foolish to opt out. Someone will give him $40-50 million guaranteed, and though his starting salary will be less than he made this year, given the CBA questions he's smart to lock up what money he can now.

Bad fit for the Wolves though, IMO. Although he'd be great on D, most of his offense when he was good was generated by Chris Paul. I don't think he'd get as many opportunities in the triangle, and he has demonstrated no other useful skills for that offense (moving without the ball, midrange shooting.)

So you're judging him based on the fact he might not fit into an offense we run only 20% of the time?
