Who do you want with the Wolves 1st pick?

I'm assuming the draft order will most likely go Wall, Turner, Favors, Cousins, Johnson

I'm using the term "assets" loosely here. Consider if we go for Turner, we'll probably be absorbing some contract (Brand most likely, but Kapono, Iggy, or Dally might do) and giving up a big asset. If we go for the #3 pick, we'll probably give up a large asset and some picks as well.
If we trade down, fill in "assets" as the bare minimum you would accept in a trade down.

I'm trying to gauge what we think the best strategdy is come Thursday the 24th.

Too many variables to fairly say

I vote Cuz, Cuz I think the price to move up will be too steep.
I don't really know what SAC or GS could give up to get me to consider givng up the 4 pick (outside of A. Randolph+6, which is way too much).

You think that is what Kahn is thinking to himself right now? Make a decision, and roll with it (if you want to of course).
I agree that the "assets" variable makes it hard to judge, but that's why I put it in the poll; for fill-in/explaination purposes.

Kahn has a ton of information that we don't that allows him to make an educated decision.

I voted other. No real reason except that is best summarized the confusion created by this poll.

I was joking. :naaa: , Maybe someday I'll be able to create a topic or poll that meets the high standards of some on this board. (still joking).

I agree that it's hard to make a decision, but I thought this was a decent enough question we can use to pass the time. I guess I'm just impatient.

My guess is that the Wolves go away from this off-season with either Favors or Anthony Randolph.

I like Johnson, but as the dust settles ... my gut says Favors will be the guy.

Flynn / Sessions ... is what it is for this season.
Henry (16/23)/ Fernandez (Ellington swap)
Gay (Jefferson deal) / Brewer
Love / Favors
Milicic / Pekovic

Love Favors and two centers speaking foreign languages should be good ....

Wall
Turner
Favours
Johnson

In that order, I have been on the "cousins is a bust" train all offseason and im not jumping off it now

I'd say Cousins because I think moving up costs too much and moving down and essentially watering down talent is the last thing the team needs to be doing. I could see some deal for Favors happening though.

Big Daddy Cool is the first choice cuz we gettim for free.

Favors would be aight I guess. Pek and the 4 for the 3 would be the most I'd pay. Cousins and Favors are equal to me.

Well, the answer is, of course, "it depends". I think most people here would prefer Turner but it depends on how hight the price is. What I don't want to see is us getting back into the same place we were with KG - one stud surrounded by bad contracts and cheap role players. So if that is what it takes to get Turner, I pass.

Favors would proabably be next on my list. I like him more than Randolph and he seems "gettable". But, again, it depends on the asking price.

Cousins or Favors.

I'm find with spending an assets to trade up to Favors if that's possible.

1. Favors -assets
2. Johnson +assets
3. Cousins
4. Aminu +assets
5. Turner -assets

I don't think Wall or Turner are really attainable. Therefore I want one of two things to happen. Either we trade up to #3 to get Favors or we trade down to #6 and end up with Randolph and Johnson. I'd only do the GS deal if Johnson was still sitting there at 6 (and I realize we'd have to give up something besides 4 to get the 6 and Randolph).

I love Cousins' talent but between the red flags and Kahn's desire to make this a running team, I don't see us taking him. It's going to hurt if we draft him, trade him to GS, and he goes Brandon Roy on us though.

Well we all seem pretty split, figures.

Let's just say it's due to the fact that there are so many variables and I made one lousey unspecific poll.

I think it's safe to say if we can get Turner for what MN sees as fair value, it's a done deal.
I think the same goes for Favors.
I don't think we take Cuz now that all these rumors are naysaying it, but we might end up taking him and trading down (I think this will blow up in our faces).

Just Blame the Triangle

Easily DeMarcus Cousins. He has arguable the highest upside of anyone in this draft and is the best fit to work with Ricky Rubio because he will be devastating in the pick and roll because he has a complete floor game.

I might take Evan Turner over Cousins because his game is more certain but simply do not want to pay the price to move up to take him.

Wesley Johnson is a huge mistake for the Wolves. There is much less talent available in the 2011 draft in big players and there are several players available in the 2011 lottery that are as good or better than Wes Johnson. You can find a player like Johnson in almost every draft. But by passing on Cousins in 2010 we might find ourselves in a position in 2011 where we are completely boxed in because all that is available to select at our draft position are small forwards like Barnes, Jones, Veseley, and Montiejonas.

Since we do not have a draft selection in the 2012 draft addressing the center/PF with this selection is a no brainer to anyone looking at the long term.
