Doesn't make sense for Philly. Al and Brand is a massive amount of money to tie into one position, and add to that the fact that Cousins (the guy I'm assuming that they'd be targeting at 4) has a similar skill set to both of the...

Some guy tweeted that on the Timberwolves home page on nba.com. Too many bigs for PHI.

I agree on the fit, but if they acquire Al, they can trade him next month.
I dunno - its a lot of value each way.

I guess you could argue that Al can play center for them. It is the Eastern conference, after all.

i would think they take cousins at four wouldnt they?
i am all for this deal. rubio and turner is a rockstar backcourt. we would possibly have love/pek/darko as our bigs. not the best but worth turner, maybe a whiteside at 16?
we would have cap flexibility that would let us overpay gay. knowing dally is off the cap next year

From RubeChat:

ESPN claimed that talks are serious and this trade is in the works. ESPN said that they are checking with agents of all parties involved so i guess we will have to see how far this goes.
Nothing on the ESPN sites reported.
Incidentally, our insider "Just a Fan" reports PHI has no interest in Al.

I think im all in for this trade. I would rather get rid of Love but that's alright. All I know is that if this went down, Kahn better believe that Turner is the next all-star elite or this will set us back. Lets go and get Gay if this is done and then draft a PF or C.

A side effect here may be a little more cap space.
Financially, Al = Dalembert, and #2 > #4 by about $1 mil, but we wouldn't need to spend money on Darko.

Just a fan's remark about Al was in the context of Al for Brand+2nd. Value is based on return.

So with 4 does that mean there is a deal? Is this the DX rumor from a couple days ago?

I don't see how Dally in place of Brand makes it any better for them.

Does turner end up being that much better than wes johnson? Time will tell. If Philly is doing this we are taking wes for them at 4. Financially I just can't see why Philly would do it. I can see Dalembert's expiring being very appealing on our end, and it kills 2 birds with one stone by clearing up the PF glut. And the triangle really needs 2 good ballhandlers, so Turner makes alot of sense. I just kinda get the feeling his lack of athleticism will keep him from becoming a true star. I think he'll be very good, like OJ Mayo, but not a true star.
Collins supposedly wants to win now, Al Jeff would be appealing to him.
Honestly though, Al+Brand+Speights is an absolutely awful and undersized defensive frontcourt.
If Philly likes Wes as much as Cousins it would make sense they would be getting value, but I'd have to think 4+16 would be much more appealing to them.

I think this would be selling extremely low on Jefferson, by the way.

A three-teamer makes more sense from Philly's perspective, using Detroit, Houston or whichever team would be interested in Al.
Philly trades: #2/Dally
Philly gets: Prince/#7/#4
Detroit trades: #7/Prince
Detroit gets: Big Al
MN trades: Big Al/#4
MN get: #2/Dally
