Dalembert to SAC for Hawes/Nocioni

So how does this effect the draft?
From SAC's perspective: I don't think it changes things a whole lot. Neither Hawes nor Nocioni were in their plans long-term anyways, so this was simply a way to clear some salary cap space for next summer when they should be able to attract a FA after getting Evans last year and Cousins, Monroe or Wes this year. I don't think it makes it any more or less likely that Wes would fall to 6 if we were to trade with GS.
From PHI's perspective: They just committed to Nocioni for the next 3 years as a probable role player at the SF/PF position and they just traded away the non-athletic Dalembert who was a decent defender for the less athletic and worse defender in Hawes. If I had to guess, they are now leaning towards Favors at 2 to give them a defensive prescence at PF/C... they're not really going to roll with Hawes, are they?
New trade possibility: 2+Nocioni for 4+Love+Gomes' non-gauranteed deal? Wolves get Turner and Nocioni is still servicible despite his contract. PHI gets Cousins at C, Love at PF and clear some cap space with Gomes.

This is such a bad deal bad deal for us. It's not like Turner is a sure fire superstar. Cousins is actually more talented. So now we're giving away Love + cap relief to move up 2 spots to take the safer pick? I'd never watch the Wolves again...

I do think this is a precursor to another big trade. Either involving Iggy, or the #2 pick and Noc.
I expect NJ and us to be getting called soon.
Shrink, any new trade ideas considering the news?

I think this makes it more likely that Phi goes Favors, cuz Hawes is a lot less defensive than Dally and they r gonna need a defensive presence.

It makes the most sense to draft a big but everyone in PHI thinks anything other than Turner is a disappointment. From what Ive been reading (Sixers board) Thad is the next to go. They seem to have their hearts set on building around Turner. I think after trading Dally and acquiring another wing, they need to go with a franchise C/PF. Use Hawes as a backup.
Cousins/Hawes
Brand/Speights
Thad/Noci
Iggy/Green
Holiday

Hawes
Brand/Speights
Iggy/Noci/Thad
Turner/Green
Holiday

The deal isn't complete, but this was the entire deal DX had rumored about earlier in the week.
Yes. Good to see it finally go through. RT @P_Matic: Was the Kings-Sixers trade what you were hinting about over the weekend?
I hope Kahn puts the full-court press on the teams, hoping to get in the middle to make things better for all three teams, as we were working on in the other trade thread.

Unless Philly now trades with MN to acquire Jeffersons - and his defensive prowness ...

The PHI owner loves Turner, but new coach Doug Collins loves Favors.
This deal increases the likelyhood that NJN takes Favors, or maybe increases their willingness to trade down. Cousins becomes more valuable to them.

I'd never trade both Love and the #4 for Turner and a bad contract. That's a terrible trade for us. Nocioni is getting tossed around like a hot potato--no one wants him. I don't think we want Turner that bad.

We shoot back
That's pretty fair IMO if the Kings don't like it well...
Maybe add a sweetener

Thought the same thing ... could end up with Cousins/Johnson. No matter how we slice it, Wall Turner and Favors are likely the top 3 picks. If they make it impossible for any one move up without giving the kitchen sink, it could become our best ally in attempting to double-down at #4 and #5 ... I doubt SAC lets that happen.

I'd add in #23 to make them feel better ...

Andy Katz twitter- Sixers adding Hawes in the deal is another reason why No. 2 likely to be Evan Turner. Safe pick for Doug Collins. Turner-Jrue Holiday duo.

Add in #16 to make them feel better... A Cousins/Johnson draft would be spectacular and something EVERY Timberwolves fan should be excited about. Then there's still #23, Pekovic, and Gomes to be used to acquire another wing if Kahn can find the deal. If the Kings can turn Nocioni, Hawes, and #5 into Jefferson and #16 - I think they've done well for themselves.
The Timberwolves would have another ~8mil in cap space next offseason as well, possibly more (all depends on CBA stuff and what Kahn does this summer).

kings will be happy with dalembert and then select whoever falls to them at 5. Johnson is a good fit with tyreke and Cousins would be more than welcomed in Sactown with dalembert a good fit next to him.
I think this may be philly posturing to have us trade up to take turner so they can get an asset and grab cousins at #4.

Yeah, but it ain't the Sixers fans who decide who is traded. I believe they're taking Favors at #2. Adding Hawes doesn't affect their plans in the least. He has one year left and then a qualifying offer. Do they re-sign him? Don't know. I just don't believe that Hawes is long-term solution to the C position any more than I think that Nocioni is the long-term solution to the SF position.

According to DX this trade has been in the works since January.
