MIN/MIA

MIN out: Ellington,16
MIN in: Beasley
MIA out: Beasley
MIA in: Ellington, 16

Why for MIN: They get another PF for cheap that has a chance of being a star. With love or Jefferson possibily leaving this offseason, this makes sense for the wolves to get depth at the position. Also he can play the SF position, and run and gun with us. Also he can be the featured player for us for the next season.

Why for MIA: With MIA guna sign another player around wade, they dont want beasley distractions, or minutes issues. They get a draft pick to get a young player. Also clear some cap space for the other max free agent.

Pass. They've already said they'd give him up for practically nothing, so why should we have to add value to get him?

There's this little thing called salary-matching. Also too much to give up. If the rumors are true beasley can be had for cap space and a protected 2nd.

Yes, there is, but not when one of the teams is below the salary cap... in this case neither team is over the cap so they do not need to match.

^ exactly. Miami is practically giving away players to get cap-space for a 3rd max FA which isn't a bad idea IMO but I'd be more likely than they give us Beasley and their first plus whoever else is on their roster for a second rounder or two.

Pass on that deal. I don't think it would/should take anything more than cap space to get him. The guys clearly a head case and not worth the trouble. Right now his rookie contract is overpaying him.

If the rumored Beasley/Dooling deal was true I don't think it would cost the Wolves more than Gomes and his non-guaranteed contract to get Beasley from the Heat, no way I wouldn't give up the 16th pick for him.

Don't hate it, but we could get him for less.

He's saying that we're not under the salary cap at the time of the draft, so we'd have to hope (or wink-wink) that opur pick was something you wanted.

However, I'd say no, even if we had the pick. Beasley is $5 mil this year and $6 mil next season, and there's no guarantee he can play SF (or even get his act together to play anything). I suspect if MIA wants to move him later to clear cap space, he will be part of a package with includes MIA's pick to acquire cap space this summer.
