Kahn is just getting as many possible deals as he can ready, so we can be prepared for different scenarios. Same thing happens just before the trade deadline.
My prediction is that Jefferson will be traded, Wesley Johnson will be acquired somehow, and Flynn will be put on the trading block (but not necessarily traded).

my gut tells me kahn will try (TRY) to pull something huge. and when i mean huge, i mean a move that will bring in veteran talent, attract free agents later this summer, and put us in a position to win at least 35+ games NEXT year. maybe it's wishful thinking, but if he is committed to bringing rubio over after next season, he better do something significant.

I predict this blows up in his face.
Another team will end up botching our plans, and we'll be stuck a.) taking a horrible deal to compensate, or b.) mildly dimishing the value of our assets because teams know who is on the block.

I predict this is a good prediction.
Seems like he has backed himself into a corner, I could be wrong and maybe he is a super genius that is gonna come out of this offseason heading in the right direction. I'll gladly eat crow at that point, but I'm beginning to worry.

What has kahn actually (not supposedly) done that has you worried all of sudden. He did not offer Flynn and picks for #10 (it was the other way around), he hasn't made any trades yet, and all I can accuse him of is having bad luck and landing at #4 rather then #2.
My take is that he has multiple action scenarios in place and is ready to make the most out of what happens on draft night. We will be a much improved team next year. I will come back and eat some crow if he drafts johnson at #4, but Johnson will still help us put a better product on the floor.
Don't try to read into all the talk right now, cause its just that, talk.

Gomes/Draft day. But I wouldn't be surprised if a bigger deal went down on the day.

People are starting to panic and the offseason hasn't even started yet. I don't get it.

Thoughts on us trading Flynn to SAC for #5 to get Johnson there?

Very unlikely Sacto goes for that.

Kahn got burned last draft, from the sounds of it, he's working hard to do something. i think we end up with another top 10 pick and trade with the sixers for Turner and that's about it for big moves.
if not, i think we get burned on a jefferson trade and end up regretting selling low on a 20-10 guy.

I wouldn't assume anything yet. Since last year the goal this offseason was flexibility and options. I think we at least need to see the first move before we can start making any legitimate projection on which way we're going to go.

I'm not panicing. I'm just keeping expectations low. When you have that many deals in place, it's highly likely that your number 1 option/plan isn't going to go through, especially when what so many other teams do basically dictate what direction we will go in. If Kahn does have 5 A+ contingency plans then good for him, but that doesn't mean any are gaurenteed to go down.
Draft day is going to be cool, because the fans and the media are going to see who we draft and go WTF,...NOT AGAIN!!!, only to have some miraculous trade happen 30 minutes to 2 hours later. It takes the suspence out of who we actually take (because we know that Kahn probably won't stay put with all of the picks), but at least we will know what direction we are headed in after draft night.

Wouldn't the possibility that trades could happen involving any of our players/picks at any time create more suspense?

Beginning to worry and full on panicking are two different things. We are a full year into his 17 month plan. I'm willing to overlook the first year seeing as there were moving parts in the FO, a brand new coach, a tough system and a bunch of parts that didn't quite seem to fit. It was an evaluation year, I get that. I'll also be the first to admit that sometimes i look too deeply into the rumors and should just wait until something actually happens.
Again, I wouldn't say I'm panicking. I'm just starting to wonder where we are headed. Probably more impatience on my part than anything.

I was thinking when a team is on the clock, and then make that pick, it's a time for fans to either yay or nay said pick. When it happens at any time, you leave to grab some Frito's, come back to the TV and only catch the last few seconds of a deal and are like, "wait, i missed it? noooooooo!" then you have to run to the computer...realgm will be super slow because of bandwidth issues....espn won't be much better....and by the time you once again return to the tv, you've missed another deal!
I think its more suspenceful if you know when it's coming, you just don't know what exactly it will be.
