Is someone taking a tally of all of these rumors? Supposedly Kahn has 28 or more offers out there and so far none of them make any sense...

It's all part of his smokescreen. Get everyone off balance, and when the smoke clears, Kahn has all the prizes.

when the smoke clears we got picks 1-5 and get to roll out Wall/Turner/Johnson/Favors/Cousins and everybody else is all derrr what happened, then Woj writes an article about Kahn has sex with barnyard animals and that he's the worst employee ever

Batum is 2 years younger than Johnson and the same age as Aminu and he has two years of NBA experience on a playoff team. I think #4 is good value for a young player like Batum who has the ability to guard nearly anyone in the league as well as shoot 40% from downtown. IMO, if you're looking at drafting a SF this year, Batum is better than any available.

That's two years gone from his rookie deal.

I might take Batum over W Johnson, but Favors is all the rage now

If we get the #12, I'd love to trade that for Batum. Portland wanted to trade up right? Seems more realistic to me.

Well, I love Batum, but I'm not sure he could be a #1 or even a #2 on a title team. Great defender, and a good shooter, but look at how many of his shots are assisted on, something like 80%.

Let me first say that I am EXTREMELY high......on Batum.
Having said that, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that I would deal the 4 straight up for him...

That's not good value for Portland at all imo.

It's more realistic than the #4 for Batum though, no?
Batum only has two more years on his rookie deal. He's also a player that takes 1/2 of his shots behind the arc and doesn't get to the free throw line at a high rate.
Is he that much better of a prospect than Henry or George, players we would have locked in for 4 years?

Yes from the standpoint that you already pretty much know what your gonna get from Batum, Portland is BRoy's team w/ Alridge as 2nd option and they are still hoping to add another star somehow Batum is a role player that doesnt command the ball, every team needs a player like that. Henry and George may turn out to be studs they might also turn into much of nothing depending on what team your talking about they are rated anywhere from high teens to mid-late 20's on different draft boards. You also gotta take into account the Batum is a starter, is anyone really convinced that Henry or George could be full time starters in the league right now??..Portland is a team wanting to continue right now.

He's a proven starter on a playoff team, knows his role, and is a very good defender already. You don't really trade those things for a player who someday might be able to do the same thing. The number 12 pick won't get you too many starters in the NBA period. Sure you'll have to pay him sooner, but he's also going to help you win games a hell of a lot sooner too. I wouldn't trade Batum for any pick outside the top 5 if I were Portland.
