Jefferson question from a Knicks fan

Hey, I'm visiting from the Knicks board, not trying to troll or anything. I was wondering why the Twolves are so desperate to get rid of Jefferson? Are they not building the team around him? Is it really at the point where they would consider waving him, as per wiretap?

Unless I missed something, the Wiretap says we would waive Z Bo after sending Jefferson to Memphis. No way in hell Jefferson gets waived.

definitely. he was found with not only 2 sub-machine guns in the locker room, but hes also been sticking it to Glen Taylors wife for a few months now. hes in a lot of **** and definitely on his way out.

My bad, knew I was missing something. Still though, he's a young 20-10 bigman with an extremely reasonable contract.

... who can't play uptempo like Kevin Love. Love is not as good an individual scorer as Al, but he's as good a rebounder and a far better passer. The Wolves want to be a running team (Rubio, interest in Johnson and Favors) and Al doesn't fit that as well as Love.

The Wolves were always going to have to choose one or the other. What you're seeing here is that, it appears, the choice has been made.

It doesn't make sense to cater the team wholeheartedly to a coach, especially an unproven one, the way it would in Football ( 3-4s and 4-3s )

It's not catering to a coach or style, it's picking one guy or the other. Love and Jefferson can't coexist, according to the Woofies (some Wolves posters will dispute this, but I agree with Kahn on that point.) Now, it happens that Love better fits the style they want to play and is cheaper, both obviously important points. But the reality was that Jefferson or Love was going to be moved this offseason.

Jefferson is simply not that much more valuable than Love, even though he was a "20-10 guy" (Love put up 14-11 in 28 mpg.)

No offense, but kind of interesting coming from a knick fan with Mike D'Antoni... :)

Fixed.

I think for many NBA teams, an elite rebounder and low post scorer who demands double-team would be far more valuable. Hopefully we base Al's trade value on the market, not our personal use for the guy
