Meh, if he can play sf that's fine, but we are pry getting one in the draft. He certainly has potential, and we aren't giving up much. Too bad we can't get a pick from them, f-ing Thunder.

We likely are not going to draw a top-notch FA so we need to use the cap to take risks. This is a risk.

As much as I think Beasley won't help us, it's worth a shot. What do we to lose anyways?

I very much doubt this.

I would hold off on this until after the draft (since miami doesn't have another pick) and see if gomes can be apart of deal that gets us George.

otherwise, its worth the risk. He can be a 3/4 guy off the bench and take over Love's roll as 6th man.

Yeah I don't understand why Gomes is involved. Why wouldn't they just agree to Beasley for a heavily protected 2nd rounder and do it after July 1st?

Our involvement is hypothetical. Miami is begging anyone to take him right now.

they want that money in hand now, so they can tell the free agents "Here it is!" The key for them is to get in front of CHI, and the Bulls might find they have to find the right bidder to get the cap space to move Deng.

Obviously better for us, losing Gomes long-term debt.

If Kahn is scared off by Cousins (I'm still not sure if he is), it wouldn't make sense to take on Beasley, who is a far greater risk IMO.

Meh. I wouldn't HATE this, especially if we're just giving them Gomes and not hurting our cap situation. I depends on what else we're doing, as well.

I'm lukewarm on this deal.

I don't have a whole lot of faith that Beasley is going to become something. On the other hand, rev is right -- we need to make some bets on some high-upside players, and cross our fingers.

So did Ricky Davis. Yet somehow he made every team he joined a little worse for wear.

I agree Beasley is getting a raw deal. I found an article the other day where someone went through all the different situations and found Beasley averaged around 20-10 when Haslem wasn't there (or in other words, the threat of getting yanked) so he's definitely got talent that isn't quite being used right.

But after his comments to Pullen I also get the feeling why they don't run plays for him and what not, so it's kind of a double edged sword. I'd take him and see what you can get out of him since I still think he could be an Antwan Jamison type player in his prime but I wouldn't go out of the way to acquire the guy.
