The Minnesota Twins?

The Minnesota Twins are known for their impressive farm system and having a way of playing the game that runs throughout the entire organization. They value system more than talent. My contention is that Kahn is moving in the same direction.

I find it odd that everyone is so down on this draft, accusing Kahn of having no idea of what he is doing. I find this problematic; Kahn may not have gotten best value or bpa, but he did demonstrate one significant thing this draft: his commitment to the system. Each and every player that we walk away from the draft with fit the system to a "T."

Wes Johnson fits the system---everyone agrees
Hayward (or Haywood?) ----strong defensive wing
two euro bigs (euro bigs pass the ball and allow a more fluid offensive set)
Martell Webster---good defensive wing, according to Blazers SB Nation article linked to at Canus Hoopus, they believe that if Webster were traded to a fast paced team he would excel, how ironic.

Finally, I know we all hoped we would get awesome value for Gomes' contract, but what did we really expect? I thought we would probably get a flier player (Beasley or something like that) plus a future pick. If Webster has been targeted by Kahn and company for as long as some suggest then this trade is not so bad. We overpaid for sure, but if Webster is one of those guys, then I can life with it.
