-Kahn like Rudy because he's long, can shoot, athletic and he thinks Rudy is still not a finished product and he could flourish on the wolves.

-Kahn isn't sure how things will play out. They may trade to acquire Lee or Gay.

-Thinks Lee fits our style. He's a great passer and just an all around obvious fit.

-Lee is different than what we got at PF becasue he has more experience than Love and he is longer than Kevin. He thinks that Lee and Love could easily play together unlike Love and Al. Lee's game is more well rounded.

So far, Kahn has said he believes:

Flynn and Rubio can play together
Flynn will be a lock down defender
Wes and Martell can play together
Wes and Martell could play and guard the SG spot
Lee and Love could play together
Lee is longer than Love
Al and Love cannot play together

Isn't Al longer than Lee? By the transitive proptery, Kahn is full of it.
I think he just says these things to sell the idea, when in reality it's obviously not a perfect fit. I believe Martell can play the 2, but I'm not sold on Wes yet, and the rest of those "evaluations" are pretty suspect.

Despite having the same height, David Lee's wingspan is three quarters of an inch longer than Love's. This will allow them to play together.

Mostly a joke, but I still don't get it. One of Kahns reasons for wanting Lee and maybe seeing how him and Love can coexist is that Lee is longer. My point is--so is Al, I agree that there is more to it than just length. I'm basically just busting Kahns chops. Defensively Lee and Love can play together because Lee is more athletic and a better passer than Al? That has yet to be seen, but that can be argued. I don't think length is a very good arguement for why they can play together.

I'm semi-intrigued by the idea of having 2 rebounding studs play together, but I think kahn is thinking more along the lines of Darko/Lee

how else was Kahn supposed to talk to the media about the whole Rubio/ Flynn thing?

was he supposed to say... Jonny is our rental PG, and will probly trade him when Ruby comes over?
- he was forced to say that... they took Jonny for need... Rubio for value

Now, The David Lee/ Love thing..

The first thing he said was they obviously cant be playing 40minutes next to each other, but they could play together at certain points of the game... Lee and Love are great passers and great fits in the triangle... unlike Al..and during a game, there are lots of smaller lineups that get thrown in .. not to mention Lee is athletic and can run, unlike Love/Al... just becuz Lee is white doesnt mean he cant run and jump a little bit.

These moves could also lead to more trades of our current players, that could give us a more balanced, complete team later after FA.

After being critical of Kahn after the draft, I am ok with this. We continue to go after value. Once the right trade falls into place, we could be MUCH improved.. we just have to wait and see. Remember our realistic goal is 30 wins next year, not 50... this is a process, not a cheap one year fix... after next offseason is when we can really start to judge things IMO.. got to be patient

Whether or not they can adequately defend their positions is the determining factor IMO, and they can't. Lee is a **** defender, especially at center. I like Lee, and I've seen a ton of him since he came into the league, but he doesn't belong anywhere near this team. He literally does nothing that we don't already have on the roster. Spending money on him makes zero sense. Claiming that he can play alongside Love makes even less.

Agreed. I don't see a front court of Lee, Love, and Darko being able to compete against Duncan, Gasol, Howard, Bosh, etc.

Sure, they'll have spurts of rebounding dominance or hustle plays, but when it comes down to playoff style, lock down defense, and the need to defend an effecient half court offense, they'll be utterly destroyed.
