Yeah, Stein also said that he's cancelling all visits, including his one here today. I hope Lee is not the backup plan.

looks like Gay canceled the visit in Minnesota, so S&T is apparently not an option, i guess

Multiple NBA sources indicated that Gay will sign the deal on or soon after July 8 when teams are allowed to finalize contracts.
Gay's starting salary will be the maximum allowed a player with his experience - projected to be roughly $13.3 million - according to sources.
Gay, 23, was supposed to visit the Minnesota Timberwolves this afternoon but canceled the trip. The 6-8 forward will not visit any potential suitors.

Damn. Well I knew he wasn't coming but the Griz locked him the hell up. Now that means we will probably be going after Lee....
Looks like Love is still going to have to deal with front court issues.

Although...doesn't this make Henry potentially available, since he would have taken Gay's spot?

I had a feeling MEM was gonna go all out. They let Ronnie Brewer walk and he was supposedly the backup plan if Gay leaves.

Holy crap overpay.
It makes Al's contract look less intimating. I really hope we can pull a deal for Iggy at this stage. We know we need to move Al and we need a playmaker.

Why can't Henry play the 2, and Mayo play the 1? Considering Mayo has said a few times that he is looking to improve as a PG.

Yeah they also had no bench last year and Henry is only 19. I don't think they're too worried about that.

Not surprised by this deal considering Joe Johnson is going to get $120M. I'd much rather have Gay than Johnson for the same money over the next 5 years.
