Predict Darko's 2010-2011 Season
Now that Darko has been filled into a solid slot as Minnesota's starting center, how will he perform? Some early buzz around the forums are that the T-Wolves overpaid for a guy that hasn't done anything in this league and that they can't believe that Darko got 20 million. I personally think it was a good contract for both sides. Darko is young, 25 I believe, and he seemed pretty happy to be in Minnesota last year which should motivate him to have his best season.
The assumption should be made that he will play 30-34 minutes per game and that Al Jefferson will be gone by the start of the season. Assuming that Darko has a healthy campaign (no major injuries) and he remains the starter all season long, how do you T-Wolve fans view Darko's upcoming season with the team? What would fans consider a reasonable stat-line for him this year? We all know that a players value isn't always measured by stats and sometimes players do things that aren't in the boxscores but, with all that said, what will Darko Milicic have to do for the T-Wolves this season to earn his contract?
Here goes nothing:
Darko's numbers for 2010-2011:
PPG---10.1 RPG---6.7 AST---2.8 BLK---1.8 MPG----33
I predict that Darko will have a pretty successful season, I don't anticipate mind-blowing numbers, but they will be solid. He will do things not seen in the stat sheets and he will have moments of inconsistency until he gets his role down pat.
I don't know if he went home this offseason and is coming back lighter and quicker or if he's gonna stay the role of bigger/larger plug the middle type center. I do think that Minnesota's confidence and commitment to him will motivate him to have his best season as a professional.

It's hard to say, there's still so much of the off-season left. I think Kahn's still got a lot more up his sleeve. Having said that, I don't think his minutes will be quite as high. Maybe closer to 25... I'll guarantee he'll lead the league in DSPG (Death Stare's Per Game) though.

If he comes back in shape next season:
14 points/ 7 boards/ 5 assists/ 1.5 blocks/ 30 min
14 points/ 7 boards/ 5 assists/ 1.5 blocks/ 30 min

That would make him a candidate for most improved player next season, especially averaging 5 assists per game. He would probably have to touch the ball a lot and have the offense run through him a lot to ever sniff 5 assists per game.

Alright maybe thats a little high now that I think about it, maybe something along the lines of 12/6/2/1.5 in 25-30 minutes is a little more reasonable?

11ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.9 bpg.
I think he'll have a decent year and I'm glad to have him on the team.

I'd think he'd be right around his per 36 career averages, at about 30 mins.
So about: 10 pts, 7 rebs, 1.3 assist, 2 blks, .5 steals. If Al gets traded, up the points a tad, like 2 pts.

Yay for DSPG--someone ought to actually track that. I say mostly what CoW said: 10 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 apg, 1.5 bpg; also, 2.5 turnovers per game, 27 minutes per game. His +/- differential will be among the highest on the team.

Only 8.5 assists? I thought he would average a triple-double at least. Maybe even a quadrouble-double.
