What do you think about posibility of playing Nemanja Bjelica at backup PG position?

10-15 min a game for the first season, to get familiar with the system, and to bulk up, and than in 2011/2012 move to 2, and 3 positions.
I have watch him play live and almost every televised game he played. His ball handing and lucidity od passing is unbeleveable. He is one of the kind player- there is no player (active) to compare him with. He would be sensation, fun to watch!

ps. as for Pekovic ( or Montenigrin rapist  as you call him) you are not avare how good player you signed, beleve me. He will have immediate impact.

I'm sure he'd be to slow to guard the 1, but i'm very intrigued by the guy.... point forward.

I think ultimately he'll play a Lamar Odom role for the team when he gets stronger and I agree he'd be fun to watch. The problem is he's not ready yet

it could work.

he would essentially take Johnny's back up minutes, but he would still be positioned at "SF" for defensive purposes. He would have to be paired with our two best perimeter defenders (Wes, Martell, or Brewer) and one of those guys would have to guard the Pg. On offense he would function as the PG.

Heck its worth a shot if we end up dealing sessions for an expiring or something this year.

I was thinking the same thing. On defence at position 3, Offence 1. Also he is very good rebounder, i've seen him grab a rebound and lead a fast break coast to coast many times. Mismatch potential, he can play with his back to the basket and easily post every guard.

I like the idea of Bjelica playing Point, but I don't think Brewer is quick enough to guard PGs either. Maybe his length would help out, but I'm not sure (can't be much worse then Flynn though, am I right?!)

I'd love if the Wolves announcer could use Pek's nickname during games when he subs in...

"Checking in for Kevin Love, Coming in at 6'11'. 240 Pounds, Parents hide your daughters....the Montenegrin Rapist.......Nikolaaaaaaa Pekoviiiiiicccccc......"

I keep getting told that the 1-4 is interchangable for the team. Which means you play Belly defensively as a SF and let him playmake as a point-fwd. He seems like a poor man high reward version of Odom and that should be nice.

From what I've seen, grabbing a board and leading the break is part of his game, and I doubt he'd have to change that.

As for him playing consistent back up PG minutes, there doesn't seem to be much of a need for it with Flynn and Sessions in fold and Rubio potentially coming over in a year or two. I like his potential as a mismatch at multiple positions, though.

It could work, I guess... He played a little bit of every position, 1 through 4, in his last two seasons, for Red Star and the Serbian NT

Other than in transition, he should not be bringing the ball upcoart because opposing PGs would pressure him into turnovers. Once the ball is on the opponent's half, it should be about utilizing mismatches. If he's guarded by a slower player then give him the ball and let him create. If he's guarded by a shorter player, then he should get a position inside the paint.

A PG gaurding him means there is a mismatch somewhere. He has very good handles, he can withstand a lil pressure and swing the ball to the PG who is being gaurded by a PF.
