Minny-Indy
This is under the assumption that we find a way to get Lee while giving up Jefferson.
Love and Lee are both very good players, but neither is really that versitle. They are PFs and cannot move from that position at all.
I suggest rather than have more PF drama, we trade Love to Indy. I love having good wings, and I love Brewer cuz he has a great attitude. But when it comes down to it, now that we have invested so much in Webster and Johnson, he is someone who comes up with the short stick.
Our roster is pretty solid at this point, with all positions filled (something we couldn't say last year), but we are missing just one thing. A best player.
Now I know many people say Granger isn't as good as most of the #1 options out there, however I think he has about as much potential as Rudy Gay does. Only thing holding him back is a senile Larry Bird, who does not know what he is doing. He would draft Indiana States whole front court if Indianapolis wouldn't assasinate him after. BTW Bird is a legend and he deserves a lot of respect ASA PLAYER.
Trade Idea is:
Granger
for
Love
Brewer
Leaves us with a roster of:
Flynn/ Sessions/(Rubio)
Webster/Johnson
Granger/Bjelica
Lee/Pekovic
Darko/Pekovic

IND won't bite on that, even if they considered this they would make us take back a bad contract or two.

We would probably have to add in a Flynn for Ford swap too

No chance. Not even close. I don't think Indy would even take Flynn and Love for Granger. We'd have to throw in another asset to get it done, and that would be overpaying. Indy won't ship Granger unless they get a deal that is too good to refuse, and there aren't many teams who are ready to splurge for him.

I thought if we are under the cap financial stuff doesn't matter. I think everyone is overvaluing Granger. We offered Al for Granger...now Love is (supposedly) worth more, so how does that not intreague them, especially after we add in Brew.

The rumor is, Indy is asking for both Favors and Harris for Granger. They'll never get that. The only way they part with Granger is if they get a deal that blows them away, and I don't think that'll happen.

Re: Minny-Indy
Maybe something like:
NJ Nets:
out- Favors, Humphries
in- Love
Indy Pacers:
out- Granger
in- Favors, Flynn
MN Wolves:
out- Love, Flynn
in- Granger, Humphries
I haven't checked the numbers but I think this could be a good starting point.

The Nets wouldn't accept Love for Favors.

Re: Minny-Indy
I'm not so sure about that..... they get rid of Humphries extra year and honestly Love would be a more attractive player to a FA that would want to win now. I'm not saying it's a guarantee that they would do it but with all the pre-draft reports and the way Avery Johnson has talked post-draft, this seems to be a move that they would at least consider.

Re: Minny-Indy
I like the idea of adding Granger who is the same age as Lee and have two guys entering their prime now with wes/martell/darko following soon after, but I don't think this is enough.
If the nj deal was on the table, Im sure Kahn would just take Favors rather than include indiana.

Re: Minny-Indy
I doubt Granger is moved. Indy seems pretty convinced they are building around him.
But the question of who we can get for Love+package needs to be the main discussion point.
Love+ Brewer/Ellingson/Sessions/
What does that get us? Philly wants toughness, do we make a run at Iggy with this package?

I went on their board to try to get Iggy and it ain't happening unless we have a Brook Lopez or take on Brand's contract in exchange for another PF. I beg to differ because at the trade deadline I bet that Iggy will be moved and will take a guy like Big Al or Love + Ellington or Brewer.

Re: Minny-Indy
Well philly has what Brand/Hawes/Speights (missing anyone?) Love and Hawes wouldn't exactly be an intimidating front court, I don't think they would go for that.
The Thunder and Harden would be a great target. Perhaps Love/Ellington for Harden/Mullens or something like that. Lots of people would probably want Ibaka/harden but that ain't happening. For OKC having a rotation of Aldrich/Love/Ibaka is pretty enticing and Ellington would be decent replacement for Harden. Mullens would give us an athletic big to develop.
Darko / Pekovic / Mullens
Lee / Hollins
Johnson / Webster / Bjelica
Harden / Webster
Flynn / Sessions
I think brewer would go for a 3/4 type player.

I have a feeling Larry Bird would absolutely love to have Kevin Love and would only need a small incentive on top of K love to get Granger. I think Flynn/Love gets it done if they can get the finances to match

You would need another player from MN to make the money work. Most likely candidate would be Webster to replace the SF position. Seems like too much to give up for Granger, but I would probably do it if I knew Rubio was coming next year. In that scenario, you just keep Big Al or do you do the rumored swap for Lee?

Re: Minny-Indy
Love, Sessions, Hollins for Granger works
Then trade big Al and brewer to toronto in a sign and trade for Bosh
