Who was the world-class talent allegedly coming to the Wolves? Was he talking about Martell Webster? I dont remember ever hearing any conclusion to his rumor.

It was Carmelo Anthony for Jefferson and all of Minnesota's 1st rounders. Apparently it got killed because he talked about it.

I doubt it. One man, not at all involved with either organization, giving vague information isn't going to kill a major deal like that.

If that did happen, the dude would be blacklisted from all local sports teams.

I think it was a brain fart that came out of PA's butt and blew away in the wind.

It got him the attention that he was seeking...

PA's "rumor" was never a rumor about a trade that was being discussed between two teams. It was a rumor about an article that a member of the national media was maybe going to publish. And yeah, it turned out to be the Sam Smith "Lebron and Melo could wind up in Minny" speculative musings article. So PA basically spread a rumor about the inner workings of Sam Smith's noggin.

What's funny is that in hindsight, technically his rumor was dead on accurate.

That's a way better deal than anything else I have heard. Melo alone would give us credibility on the court.

Love+4+Flynn made more sense to me at the time. It would have been a solid rebuilding package for them and pairing Jefferson and Anthony looks like a good idea on paper.
