So is anybody else not loving our off-season right now?

I'm really ho-hum and leaning towards being downright down on the off-season so far. I like that we got Webster, Johnson is intriguing, but beyond that I am not all that excited. I'm leery of the Darko deal, neutral on Pekovic and if we deal Love after signing Lee I will be downright upset. It seems like many wolves fans are generally exited. I'm not. Am I alone in this?

No you aren't alone. I don't have any major issues with what has actually transpired so far (Johnson, Webster, etc.) but I'm certainly not liking the rumors that are going around. I'm still in wait-and-see mode, though.

Not excited one bit.

Webster is "meh", as is Johnson.

If we can trade Big Al or Kevin Love for say... Josh Smith or someone like that, then yes. I'd be thrilled.

Not excited about any of the moves Kahn has made.

Though, this is all depending on what Kahn does with Al.

Eh, I am but I also had higher hopes then this. I wanted some different players in the draft for sure. Turner, and George are the 2 guys I wanted most. I like Wes but don't like his age. All the rumors about free agents keep making no sense, PG,SF,PF that's it. I'm still holding out hope we can get Derrick Favors from NJ striking out....or if they do get LeBron.

wait and see mode is the key right now. Nothing has happened yet.

Im not really excited, but rather just trying to be optimistic.

I knew we would go after Darko and I think his deal is fine and am interested in what he will bring next year after an offseason knowing he will be the starter.

Pekovic. I can take are leave. Im glad that WE are the ones that will find out how his game translates.

Johnson is a great fit for the team. Cousins could turn out 10X's better or worse than Wes.

Gomes deal turned out to be not as valuable as we thought and I think webster has a decent chance to suprise people.

Lastly, we all knew (in fact the whole NBA knew) we needed to deal either Al or Love. so I expect it to happen and am just hoping for a good deal.

In sum, for me, the whole offseason will be judged by what we end up doing with Al and Love.

I want to be happy about our off-season but deep down I feel somewhat disappointed. I thought we would be making a bigger splash early but it's been kind of a "buzz kill" IMO.

Summer isn't over though and I hope Kahn has something else up his sleeve.

I got the feeling that more people hated this off-season so far then loved it.

Personally I am happy we took Johnson over Cousins. I see Cousins as a player that will not be motivated and did not want the attitude issues.

I did not care for the Webster trade initially, but feel it has made us a better team and overall improves us.

I am happy we got Pekovic for the price we did.

It would have been great to get Darko a little cheaper but fully understand why he got the contract he did. I watched nearly every game this last season and even though our wins did not show it, our D was much better with him on the court.

I am really not sure what to say about the Lee/Love/Jefferson thing yet. But will hold off judgement until the off-season is complete.

I think it's natural for fans to become attached to players they root for. Once upon a time posters cried at the thought of trading McCants and Foye. However, it's a cycle. New players will come in and true fans will root for those players just the same. My stance is I'm all for getting behind Kahn and Rambis and letting them do their thing. They inherited a beleaguered franchise with fans that have developed this "here we go again" mentality that they had nothing to with. They deserve a chance to make their own team with their own players and I know one thing, they certainly can't make our team any worse than the one they got.

All Kahn talked about last season was finding our "#1 guy." We're still looking for him. To me, that's a disappointment considering how many assets we've wasted bringing in average players.

It's disappointing, but those guys don't grow on trees. At this point it's hard to blame Kahn for not pulling a rabbit out his a**. It's also hard to say we don't have a #1 guy when (1) July 8th isn't even here yet and (2) none of the players Kahn has acquired have even had a chance to set foot on the floor, save for Johnny Flynn.

aside from landing Turner or Wall in the draft, I don't think there is a true #1 option available that we could realistically obtain. Khan didn't get the pick, tried to obtain it without hamstringing us with a horrible contract in the process and ultimately decided that Johnson > Turner + Brands contract. He then decided to go for young guys with potential to see if one steps up.

I don't think its fair to judge him on not obtaining a #1 guy when there are so few of them in the NBA.

Look at our goals going into the off-season:

1. We desperately needed a #1 guy, but didn't get that guy in the draft,

2. We were unable to move up in the draft.

3. We made what I consider a bad trade overpaying for Webster, hoping he'll improve.

4. We had cap space available, but didn't even receive consideration from pre-season faves like Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson.

5. The only guy that's interested (Lee) is on an even lower tier from Gay and JJ, and he duplicates our strongest position.

With so few of our goals met, I don't see how anyone can love our off-season.

I don't love this offseason. Seems like his plan was all about trading Al and signing Rudy Gay, but looks like we aren't going to get anything for Al and we couldn't get a sniff on Rudy Gay. Totally shut down. He might pull a miracle trade out of left field, but it sure as hell wasn't his plan, I don't care what he tries to say about having a million contingency plans in place for every situation. Seems like the only certainty is that we'll end up trading Jefferson and maybe Love too for way below their talent potential. Doesn't seem like much of a 17 month plan so far.

Honestly, I havent been particularly happy or upset so far. I was expecting more for sure, but it's not always that simple.

Disliked Cousins over Johnson
Disliked Webster for 16/Gomes deal (however that deal is looking more and more even by the day)
DIsliked the handling of the Jefferson situation

I did like our later round draft picks, the Pek/Darko signing's, and I'm intrigued by the Lee/Luke Nukem interest since it means there are probably some deals being talked about.

All in all, I'm not sure what everyone is enraged for. Jury is still out on Kahn, it takes two to make a trade happen, so I cant knock him for not landing something big on draft night. My biggest complaint is he is too much of a straight shooter for my liking, where's the poker face?

I'm not sure there was a #1 guy in the draft, honestly. Maybe Wes is one, we don't have a clue. I like Turner a lot, but I don't think he's a #1 either. I like Lazar and Martell as well.

Maybe Kahn moves Jefferson for Dampier and a couple firsts, cuts Damp, gets the caps space and signs Lee. That seems probable at the moment. And a better fit for the team.

Then maybe he moves Love, Brewer, and Sessions or Flynn to Indiana with the dallas draft picks for Granger... certainly not impossible, might be why he's talking to Luke today.

Or maybe he's doing something we haven't thought of yet?

I thought they did great getting Darko and Peko signed for so little. If they both bust we are not out much, but they may turn into our two best centers ever, for 9 million a year combined... picking up Paulao Prestes was a great move as well. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/pau ... stes-1374/

I'm gonna wait and see, so far I'm pretty happy :)
