Ridnour's visit makes no sense...unless..

...Flynn will be traded. Otherwise, what's the point? If Ridnour were signed, he couldn't be traded for 30 days (I think that's correct) as per league rules.
There are reports (perhaps "rumors" is more accurate) of a substantial trade being discussed by POR and MIN.
How about this:
POR Gets:
Jonny Flynn
Kevin Love
Corey Brewer
MIN Gets
LaMarcus Aldridge
Nicholas Batum
Rudy Fernandez
Why POR:
--Satisfies its primary need for a PG
--Brings in Love, a hometown icon and a PF perhaps more suited to its style of play than the one it now has
--Gets an all-purpose, energetic wing
--Gets some cap relief
Why MIN:
--Lands three players 25 or under, in keeping with its emphasis on youth and player development
--Lands an athletic 4 with room to improve his present weaknesses of soft play and lackluster rebounding
--Lands an outstanding athletic SF with huge upside
--Lands a sharpshooting SG that might help bring Rubio over
POR fans would probably scoff at this, and if POR and MIN are indeed discussing a trade, other players (Pryzbilla?) might be discussed.
I dunno--just some random musings as we wait for 8 p.m. and the ensuing collapsing dominos.
Thoughts.

Don't see why both Portland would do this. LMA/Batum/Fernandez help them more to win now than Flynn/Love/Brewer.

Why does it have to be Flynn? Couldnt it be sessions that is being traded?
I don't believe the above deal as is. Maybe a variation of it is in the works, but the deal turns us into a horrible rebounding team. Do we even have the cap space to make the deal work financially?
It always turns me off when 'rumored' deals have so much going on in them. Simple ones are more believable

If they want Love and we want Batum, add in a Brewer for Fernandex swap and call it good.

I like Love/Brewer for Fernandez/Batum but we'd have a huge glut at SF all of the sudden. It would make me wish we never traded for Webster. Another deal would have to follow.

So we've reached the point where Batum has comparable trade value to Love? Interesting

Zero interest in LMA. Just a younger Mark Blount.

You've got a point Worm Guts. Love should have more value. Portland fans I think would say they have comparable value but I don't think so. Truth be told, I don't think I want another trade with Portland. If we could net Oden I'd be interested but he's still a high risk guy because of the injury history. I rescind my likeness of a Love/Brewer for Rudy/Batum trade. Would anybody trade Love straight up for Oden or are his injury concerns too much?

Why don't you just waterboard LMA?

I'd have to do that, but IMO, Portland may be looking to move LMA for Love in principle. The result would be Oden/Love/Pryz for Portland and LMA/Jefferson/Milicic for the Wolves. The deal would need alot of work ...
I don't know ... getting desperate for action.

It makes sense if Sessions is going to be moved. As Rev pointed out elsewhere his experience playing alongside Jennings last year and being a better shooter than Sessions would make him a much better fit.
And since when do we give a **** about what POR fans think their players are worth? Ultimately WE have no control over what a player returns in trade. Furthermore pretty much any young player who had a pulse and saw the court was "the next big thing" and "untouchable" by POR fans. I can't wait until we hear how Babbit was the best player in the draft and is so good he may move Pipp...err Batum to the bench.

Did you really need to make a thread about this? You just combined the RubeChat trade rumor with the common logic of the Ridnour thread. Plagiarist!!!
btw, moving Sessions makes more sense as SSU citing that smart Rev guy points out. Ridnour is only a 20-25 min a game guy and would be a better fit then Sessions for us. But I cannot accuse the front office of being that smart and Flynn is likely moved, it would only make sense considering Ridnour would be turning down a starting spot in NY to come here.

Could we sign Ridnour and trade him for Beasley if LBJ signs there?

This sounds like a subtle sign that we're getting Durant. Want to be my "source"?

If POR wants a pg from your team, it would be Sessions. POR was trying to trade for him during his entire tenure in Milwaukee.
