what a dick schedule, at Miami, at Orlando, Hawks at home, at Houston and at the Lakers to kick off the first 5 games of November. We should be looking forward to the draft by Thanksgiving

Looking at the schedule, I would have a tough time seeing them win more than 33 games and that is being generous.

sigh..

I thought last years schedule was bogus, this one is gonna be even more difficult. We did improve our roster but so did a lot of other teams (who were already better than us). Injuries may go in our favor or against us, not that it really matters. We're gonna be in for a long year fellas, least we get to watch the growth of this young nucleus, as Kahn would say.

I know November is going to be a horrible month, but Minnesota will start to look nice in February (despite upcoming reports of Minnesota looking like Siberia). It's really not that bad of a schedule. here's a list of some winnable games.

4x Memphis
4x Golden State
2x Detroit
2x New Jersey
2x Washington
2x Philadelphia
2x Sacramento
2x Cleveland

I just now took a look at the schedule and I agree with you guys - It's brutal! Lots of consecutive road games and not a whole lot of consecutive home games.. This usually equals bad season. It's always hard to say (of the bottom feeders) who is going to pick it up a notch and who is going to drop, but I would guess we are bottom 3 team again this year. Expect the worst - hope for the best! I'm sure though that unlike last year, I will enjoy my season tix with the team Kahn has assembled...

Go Wolves!

I don't care what the schedule was we were going to catch a beat down all season long anyway. I am very hard pressed right now to say flat out that we are better than any team in the NBA right now. There are no teams that I think we can easily handle. Defeats are going to come regardless of the schedule.

Minnesota's schedule is always going to be all messed up because we're in the wrong conference. Sharing a division with Portland, Utah, and Denver is going to net us a lot of road trips. This has been beaten to death, but if we were in the East's Central division, our schedule would line up more favorably, with less road trips out West.

That said, that beginning of November is particularly brutal. If we can eek out like 5 wins from that first month+ of games, I'll feel good about the potential of this team. But I'm not even sure I'm expecting more than 3.

I don't see a loss on the schedule. 82-0 in the regular season, and 16-0 in playoffs.

People are so quick to look at the rough stretches. Lets face it, when we are coming off a 15-win year, most games are going to immediately look like losses.

Lets look at some of our better stretches:

October 27-30: vs. SAC, vs. MIL, @ MEM
Start the season off with some winnable games. Milwaukee will be tough, but its at home.

January 29-February 4: vs. TOR, vs. MEM, @ TOR
Two winnable home games followed by a return visit to Toronto.

February 23-27: vs. MEM, vs. NOH, vs. GSW
One game after the All-Star Break, we have a 4-game homestand. Before playing the Lakers, we have three straight winnable games. The ASB will be a great time off for the team, and the schedule-makers were kind enough to let us stay home after the break.

March 2-5: @ DET, @ PHI, @ WAS
This is one road stretch I could actually see us with a chance of sweeping.

April 2-13: @ MEM, @ NJN, vs. PHX, @ DEN, @ PHX, vs. HOU
Sure, it sucks that we end the season with 4 of our last 6 on the road. However, I don't think any of these can be penciled in as 100% losses. Memphis, New Jersey, and Phoenix (2) are three teams I think we have a good shot at beating. Houston is okay, but I think we can beat them. We showed last year that we can live in Denver.

Dec 14 thru Dec 20th also is gonna be tough. At Chicago, GSW, PHX, Portland, Denver, Clippers.

Once again Wolves get screwed schedule wise.

Already looking forward to the draft lottery.

Surprised no one has commented on this yet. Pretty serious that we start against the Kings and DMC.

Any takers on who wins that game??

An attempt by the NBA to make Kahn look bad?

Cousins won't start that game. The Kings will bring him along slowly at the outset, starting Dalembert. Highly doubtful that DMC figures prominently in the outcome.

To think the NBA scheduled this game to embarrass Kahn is as ludicrous a notion as I've run across in a good long while.

That would require people outside of Sacramento and Minnesota caring about the game. So I think not.

6 games within 7 days? not to mention flying all over the country? that's messed up.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
