Just throwing it out there -- Beasley for Paul George

Would you do it? I bet you would have done it on draft day and Beasley hasn't even played a game yet. Tolliver and Love would get the PF minutes and George would step into the 2/3 log jam.

Seems crazy to say this now, but I don't think I would do it. Beasely has already impressed me in his short time here.

No interest. I don't think I would have done it on draft day, but who knows. Beasle has been my favorite wolf since we aquired him

Hell yeah. SupercoolBeas is a complete knucklehead. I would feel dirty rooting for this guy. No way the Pacers would do that trade though.

with Al gone, we need somebody w/ 20 ppg potential. I feel like Beasley might have that. Also excited about possibly seeing him at SF

Beasley has shown much more in the league than George. Nope.

I'd be tempted because I love George, but probably wouldn't do it. Beasley cost us 2nd rounders and cap, but I think that was an incredible deal for the Wolves, well below fair value for Beasley.

And Sebastian Telfair has shown much more than John Wall.

You throw it out there, I throw it back...

This team needs to consoladate assets and upgrade, not get another young wing who doesn't know the system.

Beasley has shown he's an inefficient tweener who sucks at rebounding against pro competition, and is a total headcase with substance abuse issues. Yay?

He's also shown the ability to put up 20+ points with ease.

22 games with at least 20 points, 11 double doubles. While playing second fiddle to Wade, without one play in the playbook for him.

George is a project, of less value to the team than Wes, Webster, Brewer and maybe Ellington.

With ease? Is Rodney Stucky on your radar screen as well?

compared to george, yep. He didn't show much in summer league. Lazar looked much better.
George shot 33%, 22 of 66. 3 of 26 on threes...

Two always failing arguments:

1) Hasn't proven anything in the NBA based on rookie status

2) Anything related to summer league performance.

Use your scouting minds. Break it down Howo style. How would each player fit? What are each players strengths and weaknesses? What is there upside? Downside?

I liked George as well prior to the draft but come on we just drafted Wesley Johnson #4.
Wanted us to draft Cousins #4 and move up for George. Now that we've drafted Wesley there's no need for George.

Good post, and for me, George is about where the break-even point is, so that makes it an interesting question as well.

I would probably say no though.

First, while I like Paul George, at this point, Kahn has went in a different direction with the SF position, and adding him would reduce the minutes for Wes Johnson and Webster.

Second, Beasley still has that trememndous upside, and tremendous upside is what we need. I personally don't think he's got the character to make good on his talent, but its a risk MIN needs.

Finally, while Beasley seems like a great fit in IND (needs a starting PF, young, inexpensive), their team will not bring in any player with criminal issues. Their ticket sales are low, and the fans demand that their team is rid of its "bad apples."

Great balance on a deal though, and a great thread.

I think this is the answer. I would have preferred George at the draft, but I think we've got more playing time for a 3/4 than a 2/3.
