Yahoo ranking the top 30 power forwards

30. Michael Beasley, Minnesota Timberwolves (last year: unranked)

Beas certainly has the talent to vault into the top ten of this list, but for now he remains a sort of nonentity whilst on the court. Sure, he gets some points, some rebounds, but not a ton of either. And after two years I'm trying hard to remember a time that he really swayed the character of a particular game in any meaningful way. He'll get his chances in Minnesota, bouncing between forward spots and possibly coming off the bench. Here's hoping for a turnaround, while the pressure focuses elsewhere.

(In case you're wondering, it's defense. Yes, he scores more than a lot of other people on this list, and he was part of a very good defensive team this year. But until he shows me more, he's 30.)

10. Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves (last year: 15th)

This man was sixth in rebound rate last year. Sixth. Two of the players ahead of him combined to play just 51 games (clearly, they played for the Trail Blazers), and all the men ahead of him played the center position. If I'm starting a team from scratch tomorrow, there might not be another player on this list - 1 through 30 - that I'd rather have starting at power forward.

As it is now, the guy averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds in just 28 minutes a game last season. At age 21. And I'm feeling pretty ridiculous for ranking him this low.

No Al Jeff? I thought one of the reasons people wanted a trade was because they were complaining that Love and Jeff were 'both power forwards.' Now he's a center all of a sudden? I am skeptical of everything Yahoo sports posts, and not just because of this *cough Adrian Wojin-i-suck-at-my-job-ski cough*

But props to Love and B-easy for cracking the list..

I love reading about the NBA and I have totally stopped reading Ball Don't Lie. It just doesn't seem to be a lot to ask to have some independent thought going on if you're going to write for a living.

in these situations I feel that if the rankings are really that bad that you owe it to us to show how it's done. I saw some stuff I didn't agree with, like Amare 1 spot in front of Dirk, but I looked through both the center and PF lists and nothing really stuck out as too crazy. Not like he had Bosh at 25 or anything truly absurd.

Odom is too low with Murphy and Milsap being too high stood out. No, Bosh isn't at 25 but when you go through and look at players being infront of other players it seems bad. Like you said Amare in front of Dirk. Murphy over Scola?

Memo Okur was painfully low on this list.
This guy sort of seems like a joke, it's like he coudln't decide what position any tweeners play....so he put them where ever he wanted to make his rankings work. What does writing in Iggy only to cross him out even supposed to mean? It's sloppy, unresearched, lazy writing. He must've been too busy trying to put Ty Lawson in every single picture (see PG's 1-10, or maybe it's 30-20)

Kevin Love is the highest rated forward of anyone 23 years of age or younger, and the second highest rated power forward of anyone 25 or younger (Josh Smith is ranked higher).

haven't seen his guard and SF ratings but just reading the different names I think putting up pictures of Big Z and Murphy is much more hilarious than Lawson, Mayo and James.

We don't have anybody ranked for point guards, shooting guards, small forwards, or centers. On a related note, Sessions is ranked #22 and Jefferson is ranked #10 (as a center).

why should I? one game doesn't make a difference to me. also, we both are Timberwolves fans and we display that with our avatars. it makes you look like a hypocrite ;)
