Ridnour expectations

What do you guys expect from Ridnour this year?

When Flynn is out will he be receiving 35 mpg? What numbers will he put up? 12-2-6 with 1.4 spg?

What about when Flynn returns? Time share (with Flynn taking some time at SG maybe) and something like 10-1.5-4 for Luke?

How long is Flynn going to be out again? Looked around, some places said november, some said January...

I initially understood that Flynn would be back sometime within the first month of the season. I don't know if anything has changed but until I hear different, that's what I'm going with.

I think he'll put up close to 10/2/5 for the season. I expect him to do more initially, but then settle into the back-up veteran PG role once Flynn gets back.

He had his surgery the end of July and they said 3 to 4 months then so that puts him coming back sometime in November most likely. He'll probably need a couple months before he's back to 100% rust-free, though. So I expect Ridnour to get plenty of minutes the first few months of the season.

That seems about right. I think Flynn could be out a bit longer than expected, hip injuries tend to linger for a while. It'll be interesting to see how Ridnour performs in the first couple of months, and who gets the back-up pg minutes.

My expectations for him are to keep the PG spot warm until Flynn comes back, and maybe to make the smart play 80% of the time...nothing else.

I think Ridnour's sign is a good movement of Kahn. He will be 30 when Rubio arrives with 20,and both ages are perfect for two PG's in the same team. Ricky will need a adaptation period and Luke can teach him a lot of things without ego problems because the transition would be natural for age reasons.

I expect Ridnour will do a good season and I hope Flynn too because he could be a good value next summer.

I just want him to stay healthy until Jonny's back. It would also be nice to see some free throws go down. Session's couldn't make one for crap.

Probably Rubio will be a wolf next summer, and I don't believe in two young PGs as Flynn and Rubio playing in the same team.

If Kahn want to build a team around Rubio, Ridnour can be the first piece and if he does a good season, he can play together Rubio and the PG position will be well covered next 3-4 years.

And if Flynn does a good season, Minnesota could trade him and get another good player.

But Flynn (21) and Rubio (20) in the same team? ... :wavefinger:

I agree. Personnally I'm not a big fan of Flynn, but he could develop into a quality combo-guard. His size will be an issue long-term, while the league is getting longer and more athletic ... I believe he be destined to more traditional teams like Utah and Indiana.

Many people thinks Ricky Rubio plays always as in the highlights, and this isn't true. Trust me, I have seen almost all his games this season and he has a lot of bad games.

When Rubio arrives to Minnesota, his hype can be giant and he will be in the sky one day, and the next day in the hell. You can make jokes with Marca, but everybody here knows how are the american media too, as we could see last days.

It's very important the Ridnour's role here, because he is aveteran PG. If you ask me now, I want to see Ridnour being the starter PG in 2011 and I want to see Rubio working hard for be the starter but, really, I don't think this happen.

I am seeing it, the Rubio's hype will be one of the most big one of every rookies ever, but he will be only a 20 years old foreign rookie in a new country and in a new competition system. If anybody is thinking in Rubio playing 38 minutes and 15 assists per game in his first season, better forget it and return to the Earth

As you all can tell from my avatar, I had some qualms about the ridnour deal. However, The knowledge that we will have a solid shooting veteran guard as the starting point makes me happy. I'm sorry he is hurt, but not having to watch Johnny's horrible excuse for running a team is a thrilling thing.
