Love Talks About His Role

“I’m that hustle guy, that workhorse guy who can get rebounds and putbacks and the occasional 3,” he said. “But other than that, I’ll set picks and get people open and play team ball.”

I wish he felt the same way when he's in Minnesota....

From what I've read on these boards, part of the problem with Rambis was that Love was looking to Rebound too much and giving up on team D for rebounding position. I'm sure he does feel the same, he just would rather start over guys he deserves to start over (Gomes and Hollins, mainly).

I really hope the Wolves go with a 3 man rotation at 4 and 5 with Milicic, Love and Beasley, and I really hope Kevin can expand his offensive game this year for the Wolves.

I hope there's a 3 man w/ Darko/Love/Pekovic and Beasley establishes himself as an AS SF

He never said he didn't. All he's ever complained about is not starting/playing over inferior players. I've never heard him complain about not getting enough shots.

This is his next life. He was ripping a bong one day in Miami with Haslem and he fell asleep. When he woke up he was in an arctic like tundra and was reborn as the Great 8.

were we supposed to start Love at SF (over Gomes) or C (over Hollins)? Coming off the bench in favor of Al Jefferson wasn't like the worst coaching decision or anything of the sort.

How about Jefferson at C and Love at PF? Come on.

Tony Ronzone: It's a credit to him for staying positive, staying focused, and understanding. He has really accepted his role and accepted the fact that he may play a lot of minutes and he may not play many minutes at all. Just like last night, he didn't get a lot of minutes. Again, it's part of USA, it's not about "I". He's done a really good job and this experience for Kevin has been fantastic, it's been great for our organization and Minnesota to have him here to play against this high level competition and to learn to play different type of roles. It's going to make him a better player as a young player himself, so we're excited about his production. It's amazing for his minutes, going into last night's game, he was the third leading rebounder in this tournament after two games. The other two rebounders are playing 30-plus minutes, so it's pretty amazing what he has done on the floor. He just takes every rebound. Chauncey Billups was telling me the other day, "He doesn't let anybody get any rebounds." I said, exactly, that's what we plan on him doing in Minnesota. I'm excited about his progress, it's been great being around him and it's all beneficial for the Timberwolves.

Not that it really matters, since most of his carping has been about playing time/starting, but both these statements are false. Hopefully it was just venting during a frustrating season and can be put behind him, but not all of the whining has been of the legitimate variety some paint it out to be.
