Harris/Farmar
Williams/Morrow
Outlaw/James/Ross
Favors/Murphey/May
Lopez/Petro

Flynn/Ridnour
Webster/Brewer
Beasley/Johnson/Webster/Heyward
Love/Beasley/Tolliver
Millicic/Pekovic

i dont get why people think the Nets are gonna improve so much yet were gonna be the same bad team

Because that's what they're being fed by the hype machine.

I'll give them the edge. They added Murphy and Favors while we added Pekovic and Johnson while trading one of our best players.

I like our summer better so far.

Nets PGs > Wolves PGs (at least until Rubio comes over)
Nets SGs < Wolves SGs (with correction that has Wes at SG)
Nets SFs < Wolves SFs (I like Beasley over Outlaw and Webster is a solid back-up)
Nets PFs > Wolves PFs (anyone who wouldn't trade Love for Favors is kidding themselves and they also have Murphy)
Nets Cs > Wolves Cs (I know people love Darko, but this isn't close)

It's funny how SG and SF were our weak spots last year.

id take our PFs over theres right now. Favors is raw and it is known that he will take him time. Favors will likley be better then Love in the future. i likle Toliver and Beasley over Murphey and May

Beasley is going to be playing most of his minutes at SF... I take Favors/Murphy over Love and whoever 10 times out of 10. We all agree that we're a few years from seriously competing anyways, so who cares if Love is better right now.

Pure speculation ... right now Love is >>> Favors

Right, but isn't this thread about why people see the Nets as having a brighter future than the Wolves? The key words used were "right now". Leading up to the draft, everyone was saying we should trade anyone on our roster (outside of maybe Rubio) to get the #3 pick in addition to #4, so I'm curious why that has changed?

I'm done now. :)

it was actually more about this coming season more then who has a brighter future. I would have included rubio if it was brighter future.

I see people predicting the nets around 30 wins. I even saw 41 in the general NBA forum. No one mentions them as a team that could be the worst team in the NBA. Meanwhile when it comes to Minnesota I would say at least 90% of people say we are easily the worst. They added favors outlaw morrow farmar d James and petro while they lost CDR lee and yi. We added Johnson Beasley Webster pekovik and Ridnour while losing al Gomes and wilkins

It was pretty much board consensus prior to the lottery being decided that most teams would prefer Love to the #3 or #4 pick. Its even in my eyes. Favors is to raw to be considered better for a team at this point.

Starters:
Nets PGs > Wolves PGs
Nets SGs < Wolves SGs (I actually love twill, but I'd take brewer\webster\johnson over him for impact now)
Nets SFs < Wolves SFs
Nets PFs < Wolves PFs
Nets Cs > Wolves Cs

Backups:
Nets PGs < Wolves PGs
Nets SGs < Wolves SGs
Nets SFs < Wolves SFs
Nets PFs < Wolves PFs
Nets Cs < Wolves Cs

Future of Team:
Nets PGs < Wolves PGs
Nets SGs = Wolves SGs (twill is intriguing as a prospect, but I doubt he thrives in NJ)
Nets SFs < Wolves SFs
Nets PFs = Wolves PFs
Nets Cs > Wolves Cs

^ ? Really? I was under the impression that the general board consensus was Love as a distinct #5.

I think the Nets looked better on paper, even last year. I don't think many people forecast them as in the running for worst team ever. From looking at your additions and subtractions, though, it seems that they have no major subtractions and some decent additions. We have some additions (perhaps better additions that theirs), but a major subtraction.

At this point in time, I like their players more than ours (for getting wins) and perhaps over the upcoming year as well, but I like our long-term future more.

Granted I've only seen him play maybe 20-30 times, but Favors game just screams Sto Swift to me. He's got all the tools in the world to play with, but unless he happens to stumble into playing with Chris Paul or Nash or Kidd... I'm going to say the guy who is already one of the best rebounders in basketball has just as bright of a future as him and Troy Murphy

The Nets have all-star calibre players at the two most important positions (PG & C), and Williams is rising fast. Outlaw, Morrow and Murphy will help them improve as well. I'd have them in front of us this season. But I don't think we're that far behind.

Who will pick up the slack in head to head matchups now that Wilkins is gone?

Oh yeah, one of any number of players we have added who are better players by a factor of 2-3

Wolves sweep Nets this season.

Shabooyah.
