I'm an Iowa flood survivor. Children crying, blood everywhere, and the smell of rotting flesh. It does a lot to a man.

I wish I took some pictures, there was some awesome shots.

Only my basement, which has been flooding about once a week this summer. We only got 3.5 inches here.

I thought it was just down in southern Minnesota. I live about 10 minutes from Minneapolis and I haven't heard of any problems near the Twin Cities or any flooding up north.

SE Minnesota got it really bad. Especially near the Zumbro river. One of my friends house had about 7 ft of standing water.

I'm in Rochester, and it's nuts. Rochester is completely fine, yet 5 minutes north is was crazy.

I had a job interview at Zumbro-Mazeppa middle school and on the way there I was one of the last cars to get through highway 52 before they closed it (like a caravan of half-submerged vehicles, the way back home (usually like 20 minutes) took me an hour and twenty...so much rain.
I'm glad I haven't heard of anyone cirtically hurt. Finally, I'm new to SE MN and have to ask, does this happen often (in september)? Seems like an odd time of year for this to happen.
