DEN-NYK-MIN

Post#1 » by shrink » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:23 pm

It sounds like NYK can't get a deal done because they can't get any picks. We could offer picks, but doubled cap space would help DEN afford all the picks they wanted.

MIN GIVES: Love + Brewer + Koufos + $8 mil cap space
MIN GETS: Anthony Randolph + Gallinari + Curry (+Ewing to be waived)

DEN GETS: Love + Koufos + $12.3 mil in cap space
DEN GIVES: Melo

NYK GIVES: Anthony Randolph + Gallinari + Curry (+Ewing to be waived)
NYK GETS: Melo + Brewer

MIN uses its cap space to turn one young, high-upside player into two. Randolph and Gallinari have two years left on their rookie deals -- Brewer gets paid next year. I think we may not be getting enough forthe cap space.

DEN gets its young big, and $12.3 mil saves them $27 million dollars. They can buy all the picks they want.

NYK gets Melo AND Brewer. With Amare in place, they may be able to entice Chris Paul.

I like it but it would be better if we didn't get rid of Love... But I do like Gallinari

So basically our 8 mil cap space will go to paying Eddy Curry? No thanks...

I think its light for us too, but this is how I see it:

Randolph =< Love

Gallo + Curry =?<?>? Brewer + $9 mil cap space?

Keep in mind Brewer has very little trade value. He's not an impact player who a team can't just wait to pay next year, since its quite possible he won't get more than the MLE.

It really comes down to whether you think Gallo has enough potential that he's worth tossing $9 mil at. Personally, I don't, but he's a guy people could really like, and we need to take shots at guys with high upside.

Love > Randolph

The only thing Randolph does better is block shots. And Love is only 10 months older than AR, too.

Gallinari > Brewer

$9 million cap space >> Curry

Easy no for me. It doesn't look that good for Denver, either.

you add two more prospects to your squad (even if they don't fit, you're gm loves collecting them) and you complain about an expiring contract? what franchise savior are you saving that for?

besides if any team gets raped here its denver.

We just drafted Wesley Johnson so there's no need to trade for Danilo Gallinari. Also I wouldn't trade Love for Randolph. With Love you know what you get. Rebounding monster, good overall player. Randolph is a mysterious right now. He may or may not break out one day but I'm going with the sure thing here.

I think Denver gets destroyed, and I would easily do this trade for the Wolves. I see Gallo as roughly a similar prospect to Love, though a little worse. I don't think we will be able to afford Brewer next year, and I don't want Koufos. Thus, I see the trade as paying a few million in cap space and a little bit of talent difference (the + from Corey brewer and the + from Love-Gallo difference), and AR makes up that difference for me. I also think the fit would be better.

I think something along these lines is closer. This team really doesn't need Gallinari. Den would probably prefer picks too.

MN doesn't really need Randolph either so flipping love is ideal in this sort of trade, but we'd need a better fitting piece to flip love for. Ideally a SG. Only guy I can think of in that range is Harden.

MIN GIVES: Love + Brewer + Koufos + $8 mil cap space + Utah pick + Mem pick
MIN GETS: Harden + Anthony Randolph + Curry (+Ewing to be waived)

DEN GETS: Gallinari + Koufos + $12.3 mil in cap space + Utah pick + Mem pick
DEN GIVES: Melo

NYK GIVES: Anthony Randolph + Gallinari + Curry (+Ewing to be waived)
NYK GETS: Melo + Brewer

OKC GIVES: Harden
OKC GETS: Love

MN:
Darko\Pek
Randolph\Tolliver
Beasly\Johnson
Harden\Webster
Flynn\Ridnour\(Rubio)

Basicly Love for Harden swap. Randolph for 2 non lotto firsts and cap. That's a lineup with a ton of potential. Next year MN wold have Rubio + maybe a free agent + a top 10 first. Not sure how to improve upon this lineup to be honest. Lots of potential upside with modestly proven talent.

Beasly, Randolph, & Darko make a block party.
Harden seems ideal for MN's offense, and is a solid young defender.

Can mixup the lineups too.
Randolph can play 3,4,5.
Johnson\Webster can play 2,3,4.
Beasly can play 3,4.
Harden can play 1,2,3.

I like our team the way it is. Not really interested in any trades right now unless it's just us renting our cap space for future assets, or moving Telfair.
