Wow we haven't had a national televised game in years (even if it's pre-season). Prolly the last time was KG's return.

I read that Johnson participated in drills, but not in any scrimmages, so we might see him play.

I'm out of the country right now and won't be able to watch this game. Could anyone possibly record this and maybe upload it for me/minny fans? Thanks a bunch.

Is this the official game thread? If so, either younggunsmn or one of us mods will have to edit the first post to make it a TRUE game thread.

I guess they realized people want to see what Beasley can do as the 1st option on offense.

I'll defintely watch that game.

Sucks that the first game already has the underminings of being a blowout. Despite playing a pretty damn fresh new squad against a such a seasoned heavyweight team, what focuses do you think the Wolves will have, and what do you think they are going to throw out there to try and gauge some insight to how the season could start out? Do you think they will focus more on trying to create defensive stops first for the run-n-gun, or they are going to a shambles defensively and try playing the triangle together for the majority of scores?

I think Brewer and Webster are going to see the majority of minutes in the SG position, Wes not being totally fit or worth the risk, and to be a good refresher of the pace of the game for these team 'veterans'. Ellington and Hayward (if named) will get 5-10min. Beasley will get a very big piece of minutes at SF, probably more than they would plan to give him in a season game, with a few minutes in PF. Darko/Love will be the primary combination, but Pekovic will maybe just rotate with Love the majority of his minutes vs the Lakers?

Im not expecting a pretty scoreline, but i am quite excited for this game.

Similar to NFL preseason, I wouldn't expect to see any of the key players play big minutes until later in the preseason. With that said, we may end up winning this because the Lakers won't be playing Kobe and Gasol heavy minutes. From our squad, we'll probably see a healthy dose of Pekovic, Tolliver, Hayward and Ellington after the starters sit.

If Lamar Odom plays, I'm expecting him to make us look rather childish. Odom/Love is not a good matchup.

Shannon Brown could very well run circles around us too, if he gets the minutes.

LOL@ Blake vs. Ridnour... that should be interesting.

Odom can get the step w/ his handles/speed/length sometimes if they isolate him up top and let him get a head of steam, other than that he doesn't worry me too much. I really hope we can see Artest on Beasley though. No better observation for the SF experiment than that because Artest always takes these kinds of games seriously.

Timberwolves.com has changed it to NBATV now, so looks like no TNT.
Guess I'll be eating pie on monday.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
