Non-Wolves Preseason thread

The Nets played the 76ers today (Favors versus Turner). I didn't see the game, but Derrick Favors' stat line didn't impress me at all. 4 points, 5 fouls, and 3 turnovers. I know he's somewhat raw in just one preseason game, but it doesn't help potential Anthony trades that's for sure. ET got 10 of his 12 points from free throw shooting (points are points I guess) and 7 rebounds.
Cousins, Griffin, and Wall are playing right now

yes, but was he able to hold Kobe scoreless, like Wes did?^^
(yeah I know it was only 6 mins, but still - I'd put it on my resumee, if I managed that

)

lol @ Clippers losing by 30
Cousins also had 5 turnovers. I still think he would've been the better pick but I'm not mad at it anymore.

Yea the stuff Cousins was doing in Summer league, you just can't fake that. He is superbly skilled for a rookie bigman. As long as his head is straight he will be a great player.

Lets hope Wes at least becomes an Iggy or Granger type winger or everyone is gonna bash Kahn again.

Already happening.

dont want to oversell him, but he's like a more athletic Granger on offense w/ Gerald Wallace defense

The question about Cousins is not whether he can be good. It's whether he can consistently be good for 82+ games. He faded after 5 in summer league

I think Wes is the real deal.

my question is if he can exercise enough. If he's already this big at this young of an age...that usually only gets work, he has to try harder

My question with Cousins is his mental strength. He's got the physical tools, no doubt. I just wonder about the head. He might very well be a beast, though.

He would have been a much better pick. Kahn went very safe on that pick.

I won't be mad if Cousins dominates all season long. I believe Cousins is the better prospect, but I will never blame Kahn for drafting Johnson.

Not sure where to put this, and didn't want to make a thread on a board I have never really visited/posted on before...But, noticing that Webster has come out pretty decently, how do you guys feel about the Webster for Babbitt trade (realizing that it is still way to early to come to a firm conclusion)?
I went to the Blazers first preseason game yesterday, and was absolutely disappointed by Babbitt's play. Granted he didn't get many minutes, but he looked slow and confused, tried to drive it predictably to the same spot for the same miss, and did not look like the hot outside shooter he was sold to be. I have seen him shoot in practice and he can make shot after shot, so I am hoping that with time he improves during games, but there are other aspects to his game that are very suspect. It's possible he could become a stretch 4 (negating his speed issues), but he is certainly a project at this point.
Not that I regret the trade, since the reason we traded him was to make room for Matthews who has impressed on all levels. However, from your perspective, are you glad you have Webster on the team?

Well solely based on 2 preseason games, I'd say I'm absolutely satisfied with the trade. Webster has been arguably our best player (maybe second to Love) in those two games, probably securing the starting sg spot. Of course he has a history of being inconsistent so we'll have to wait and see a bit but I like what I've seen so far.

I never was too high on Babbit. I doubt we would have drafted him because we really didn't need him, but I guess Kahn didn't like anyone there with the pick. On draft day I probably would have drafted Seraphin, but I'm warming up to the trade. For Portland, the logic behind the trade made sense even if Babbit turns out to be a bust. It was a low risk high reward move.

I liked the Webster for Rainman Jr&Loaf the second it was announced because I had been a fan of Webster the year before Roy came.
Screw Cousins (not literally), he wouldn't work out here. If Kahn wasn't gettting backlash for picking Wes he would be getting it for picking Cousins when he didn't want to play here (like Rubio they would say).
Insert haters gonna to hate picture here.

Boston absolutely destroyed Philly. Oh well, guess it's garbage time for Turner.

Horrible night for the Pistons, Jerebko and White are both going to be out long-term.
