SG Question???
Who will likely be your sg starter for next season?
From the look of things, Martell Webster is destroying the competition. If your coach wants to win games, he would probably give Webster at least 25-30 mins/game. Wes Johnson will likely get at least 22-26 mins per game for development.
My guess is that Corey Brewer will be a DNP scrub for your team. The guy has no long term value to your team since he is only committed to the team for one more year. What is your take?

Re: SG Question???
I think Webster will start come game 1 and Johnson will take over his starting spot at mid season. Brewer will get minutes at the start of the season but Ellington and Hayward will likely box him out of the rotation which means he's not coming back next season.

Re: SG Question???
Webster certainly has separated himself early on. If he can stay consistent, he's got to be the early favorite. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, I think he gets the 25-30 mpg either way.
Too soon to say with Johnson. He's got a sweet stroke and will get his hops back once his hammy is 100% but can he defend the 2? Does he have the handles to play the 2? Probably but I can't say at this point. My guess is he backs up the SG and SF position for now.
Brewer - hmm. He should come off the bench but I wouldn't be surprised to see Rambis start him at least in some matchups just because he knows the system and had some success in it last year. He brings length, athleticism, decent defense, and energy (and poor handles and questionable shooting). I doubt he gets DNPs but I do think he is the early favorite for the 'most likely to be traded by the deadline' award.
I'd be happy with this by the end of the season:
Beasley ~ 30 mpg at SF
Webster ~ 30 mpg at SG
Johnson ~ 26 mpg at SG and SF
Ellington ~ 10 mpg at SG
(Brewer gets Ellington's 10mpg the beginning of the season, then gets traded)

Re: SG Question???
Agree with C. Lupus. I see Webster as the best fit and I view him and Ellington as the only true 2s we have. Although Johnson could play there, but I do see him as a better fit at SF. That mpg seems pretty accurate.

I think there are going to be more minutes available at SF than what's listed here because Beasley is most likely going to play at PF as well when Love is sitting.

I think most would rather give Tolliver minutes than Brewer.

Re: SG Question???
I could see Brewer starting games, but playing about 10 fewer minutes than Webster.

I equate it to Jason Kidd with Team USA. Kidd started as the veteran of the team, but barely played due to better talent behind him. (I had a different example, but I'm drawing a blank.

Yeah, a little bit of wishful thinking on my part. I want him to be successful as a full time 3. He'll likely get some minutes at the 4, though.

Re: SG Question???
Yeah, Jason Kidd and Corey Brewer is definitely the same thing.
Umm... NOT.
I think cutting Brewer makes more sense than starting him because of some sort of entitlement he should have.

Like I said, I had a different example. Heres a better one.
Keith Bogans was the starting SG in SA for most of last year, with Ginobili as the 6th man. Bogans averaged 20 minutes, Ginobili averaged 29.

Right, so in your example Johnson is Bogans right?

Re: SG Question???
No, Brewer is.
Start Brewer, bring Webster and Johnson off the bench.
Brewer - 15 minutes
Webster - 28 minutes
Johnson - 5 minutes (Total of ~25 minutes)

Sorry guys, this just in:

Brewer wont get DNPs. Brewer may start a few games. Brewer will have an excellent season, last year wasnt a fluke - he knows he can do better. Look for a good game tonite to redeem himself.

Re: SG Question???
• Corey Brewer outmuscled Nikola Pekovic for the ball during Sunday's practice, then the man with perhaps the skinniest legs on the planet told the big fella to get back in the weight room.

I sure hope his 12.1 PER and 1.0 winshares were not flukes, but only in the opposite sense of what you meant.

Re: SG Question???
Oh yeah, Brewers PER. Compared to some other guard/forwards in the leageue last year that played between 30-33 mpg:
Andre Iguodala - 17.8
Grant Hill - 14.0
Hedo Turkoglu - 13.3
Carlos Delfino - 12.9
Corey Brewer - 12.1
Ron Artest - 12.1
Rasual Butler - 10.7
Brandon Rush - 9.1
I dont think Brewer had an awful season, if thats what you mean?

Lol. I think that's pretty glaring evidence that he had an awful season.
