So far he is living up to the hype surrounding him in the sense that he is a bruiser down low who is very efficient and scores a lot very quickly. I think he has looked very good in the couple games i've seen of him so far this pre season.

Averaging a foul every 4.4 minutes on the court so far. There likely will be an adjustment period to the NBA game.

He's a man-beast that derives strength from the fear of lesser big men. Ladies see him and feel a bit frightened, but also tingly...in that special way. He also has a vacation home at the free throw line.

Expect him to be an instant spark off the bench although he'll need time to adjust.
Once he's adapted to the nba he's going to flat out destroy some opposing teams.
Opposing starters need a rest? Time to bring Pekovic and destroy them with high percentage shots in the paint.

I think he is slow as the hell. He need play accelerated with the NBA boys and still he must demonstrate he can play with this velocity without fouls.
Perhaps he is a player only for Europe

Well, perhaps he is slow for Barcelona, too.

Though it be honest, it is never good to bring bad news.

I wonder how Darko would react if Pekovic started.

Pek shouldn't start. He's a perfect bench big man, and we need Darko to anchor our starting defense. With steady improvement, I could see Pek averaging nearly as many minutes as Darko as the season progresses, but Darko should start.

well right now he is trying to adapt to the nba, which is more pussified than Europe, and it's more streetballish, more fast, more 1-on-1, etc.

Outside of the fouling, I'm pleasantly surprised. His rebounding is better than he showed in Greece, and he is unstoppable inside 8 feet and draws fouls with ease. Koufos has also been a pleasant surprise. This has got to be the deepest C rotation this team has ever had.

One better take European's rebounding numbers with a grain of salt. Usually the best rebounders average something around 10 boards and they need 35 minutes to do so. How many minutes did Pek play? 20? I'm not really surprised about his rebounding numbers.

Pretty much as soon as he adjusts to the faster pace and limits his fouls. He should be even more beast.

Pekovic has been nice. We just don't know what his real minutes will bring over the course of a full season because so far it has been all preseason minutes. I expect big things from this guy, but I think it will be two adjustment periods: Pek to the NBA, and the NBA to Pek. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking great in December, somewhat weaker in April, and really improved next season.

Everytime I see Pek check in and look at his on the court match up I always think of Dolf Lundgren in Rocky IV.....

He would be slow for Barca indeed.
Barca play transition game, game with a lot of movement at the attack, it's not Pokovic game.
He is a center that you give him the ball near the basket and move away.
So it's depends a lot on the style of the team...
