Trade/Signing Coming?

Post#1 » by Klomp » Thu Oct 21, 2010 12:16 am

Btw, Rambis hinted today that the Wolves very well could carry 15 players when the season starts.

But...it probably won't be Ager, which means the team is discussing acquiring a player (or players) from a team looking to save money.

Remember the Wolves are way under the salary cap, so they can take on contracts without having to give any back.

If the Wolves make a move, it'll be interesting to see if they add more youth or potential or add a veteran presence to a locker room very much lacking that.

Gilbert Arenas is a big expensive contract. Lets get him.

The truth is I was trying to figure out a three way between Denver, Washington, and Minnesota involving Arenas and Carmelo, but every variation resulted in Minnesota getting ridiculously screwed.

^ I'm assuming we would also get a pick.. Right?

cpfsf, yeah Arenas deals are hard since he makes so much and we don't have any bad contracts to use as filler.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a pick available that could justify that horrible trade.

Arenas is nuts, but he would make a nice PG in this system.

It is an easy trade to make.

Arenas for Flynn+Bassy+Brewer works under the cap. Not sure either team would want to do it.

They have Wall so Flynn probably isn't a great piece for them. I don't think I'd want Arenas and Beasley on the same team. One no defense knucklehead is enough. I'd swap Beasley for Flynn in that deal and then move Flynn to another team.

Since when does acquiring Arenas require pieces? He's a negative value contract. They shouldn't get anything positive in return. I'd want no part of him. The only player I would want less in the entire league would be Elton Brand.

I'd take them all over Arenas. Arenas has bad knees, has hardly played in two years, may be the worst defender in the league, and is borderline insane.

That is all true but taking on any of them would be a risk. Why not go with the one with the most talent? Not that one has to be traded for, obviously.

Klomp, what are you doing posting horrible trades on the board without explanations?

The problem is that we'd be getting Arenas now, and not Arenas from 5 years ago.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Beasley for Iggy?

I feel like we're a playoff team this year if we do that.

Yeah he is worse than he was five years ago but he still has more talent than the other players mentioned (Brand, Lewis, Hedo, Johnson).

If Phili moves Iggy it's to cut salary because they think they don't have all the pieces yet, not to add a worse/older replacement player.
