We're in trouble guarding the Nowitskis, Garnetts, Bosh's, Odoms etc. Was thinking Solomon Jones might be a good pickup. He's nothing special, but he's long and can help us defensively. Pacers will probably release him before the season or give him up for very little. On another note the Vegas line on Twolves wins this season is 24. I like those odds and am taking the over. Also taking the under with Cleveland... 30.5. Easy money.

So against Chris Bosh you want to take Love out of the game and put in Solomon Jones?

Do I have that right?

What's up with the Solomon Jones love lately? There just isn't enough minutes for everyone, I'd rather just play Tolliver more minutes than have Jones play.

I'm guessing it was the block he had in the last game vs the Wolves.

We had the same problem last year with perimeter bigs. Love was too slow and Gomes was too terrible at defense. This year Beasley and Tolliver will take the place of Gomes and hopefully do a better job.

Then you put Darko on them. Tolliver/Pek/Koufos/Love could all guard the centers that play on Dallas, Miami, New York, etc.

You saw this preseason that Darko was guarding Pau and Amare and did quite well against both. You don't play a front line of Jones and Darko under any circumstances.

pretty simple. have darko defend the better offensive frontcourt player and love the weaker one.

love v perkins/o'neal

darko v bosh
love v haslem/anthony/Ilgauskas

darko v gasol
love v odom/bynum (ok that one's a problem)

Darko may not defend like KG, but he has the size and length to at least make these guys work for their shots.
IMO it's the quicker PF's like Amare we will have more trouble with.

Darko had Amare in his pocket during our preseason Knicks game. Darko is perfect foil for Love on defense.

Against the Lakers we just play the Serbian-Montinegran bash bros.----Darko and Pek vs. Pau and Bynum. Odom can be handled by Beasley or Tolliver, and maybe a bit of Love unless he's torching us.
Amare is a problem, but they don't play D and our offense will just have to outshine theirs when we play a whopping 2 games against them.

I wouldn't mind putting Wes on Dirk

Amare and Odom/Bynum/Gasol is a problem for 28 other teams besides us FYI.

Pretty sure the strat of throw Darko and Pek at him, hope their two styles keep him off balance and he has a bad game and don't let the other 4 have open 3's will be the formula for beating the Knicks. Their team is a turrab'l collection of talent that are one dimensional, don't fit, or over-rated. Lets not panic.

The Lakers, well they are the Lakers and have won the last two championships. I'll conceed we just may lose all our contests with them this year.

I have to agree with this. They're shooting the ball horribly and while they upgraded their shot blocking they did it by severely downgrading their rebounding. The Knicks won't be a problem for us this season.

Afterward, Rambis called the experiment "interesting" and said he feels he'll be able to try combinations like that because Milicic is mobile enough to cover power and some small forwards in this league who like to play on the perimeter.
