Webster Out 4-6/Traded for Damaged player? (Update pg 4)

From the trib:
Kent Youngblood here. Wolves coach Kurt Rambis said after practice today that guard Martell Webster has had an MRI on his sore lower back. The team is waiting for a second opinion on the results of that test to determine a treatment schedule. Webster will miss Friday's preseason finale in Milwaukee and Rambis said it's possible Webster could miss the regular season opener against Sacramento next week.
Webster missed Tuesday's game against Indiana with what were described as muscle spasms. Is it more than that? Weber has said he initially hurt the back while being undercut during a playoff game against Phoenix when he was playing for Portland last season.
I hope it doesn't become a chronic thing like with bogut or kaman.

Looks like Brewer just became a little more valuable...Websters back is looking more serious than just spasms, and both Wesley and Telfair are also missing tomorrows game due to treatment for injuries.
Which means Brewer should be starting with Ellington playing backup minutes at the SG and PG spot. Lazar should get some more minutes to.
It would be good to close the pre-season with a W and finish 6-2. Lets hope these injuries are not to serious.

Let's hope it's not a hernia. Right on with Brewer. With Johnson/Webster battling injuries Brewer should stay the entire year. Both Webster and Johnson have shown to be injury prone in recent history.

Maybe Klomp edited his post to say that because you keep making fun of his Brewer for Curry/Walker trade.

To bad for Webster. I hope it's an injury he work through with treatment ... he's shown some good stuff and proved he can be fairly consistent.
IMO, I don't think Brewer is going anywhere if he's offered a reasonable contract extension and buys into a role ... I think he could be a long-term reserve (6-7-8 guy) on a playoff team if he notches up his defense. I don't think he wants to be a journeyman. He's struggling right now, but seems pretty confident he will get it going. TIme will tell.

I think Brewers a long way from being offered an extension.

I know that doesn't even make any sense. A knowledge bomb is when you realize you shouldn't have eaten the asian zing wings at Buffalo Wild Wings...

Asian Zing = awesome...when you're eating them. But yeah, sometimes there is definitely the "knowledge bomb" later on.

I'd rather see more Hayward than Ellington to be honest. Ellington is a tease

Ellington will get the backup PG minutes.

I agree. Coming into preseason I was hoping Hayward would be ahead of Ellington in the rotation since Ellington couldn't beat out Pavs and Wilkins last year.

Whaaa? Ellington has loooked great. I like him starting at the 2 next to Beasley more than Johnson. Johnson's handles are too suspect to play next to Beasley imo.
