Minutes to start the season

Post#1 » by Ice32 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 1:18 am

Based on performances in the pre-season, lets look at the minutes distribution for the first few games of the NBA season. Lets assume that Webster and Johnson minutes are limited due to injuries.

PG - Ridnour - 33, Telfair - 15
SG - Brewer - 20, Ellington - 25, Johnson - 3
SF - Beasley - 30, Webster - 12 Johnson - 8
PF - Love - 33, Tolliver - 15
C - Milicic - 28, Pekovic - 15, Koufos - 5

The Shooting Guard spot is still questionable with who starts and who plays more minutes. I'd assume that Brewer gets the starting SG nod to start the regular season, with Ellington playing more minutes off the bench to provide a scoring punch. Once Webster and Johnson are healthy, the minutes at the SG and SF spots would change significantly, depending on whos contributing the most.

Webster has 12 minutes?

Either 30 or 0.

Hate to say it but Brewer and Beasley at the 2/3 looks awful. Both players are playing out of their natural position. That can't be good.

I clearly said, lets assume that Webster and Johnsons minutes are limited due to their recent injuries, they are recovering from back and hamstring issues repsectivley. Their minutes would increase over the course of the first 5 or so games.

Taking into consideration that this really only covers the first game, will you be updating this list before each game?

Good luck trying to predict minutes with Rambis coaching. I'm not questioning his coaching, but there's no doubt minutes will be erratic... I think Johnson will be fine by the time game 1 rolls around and will play 20+ minutes. Webster looks like a long-shot.

No, Obviously I wont be. It would be great if Webster was ready to roll for the first game, but according to Coach Rambis, he wont be, and surgery hasnt been ruled out either.

Minutes ... heck we still need to find out who can play. It's debatreable and we haven't even played a regular season game yet.

Is Beasley a player or a punk?
Can Love raise the bar?
Can Darko really perform as a starter?
Wes just a shooter or can he put the ball on the floor?
Team defense?
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"
