I think Hibbert would be a great fit here with his low post scoring and passing game. He could play the role that Darko has failed so far. I imagine we'll have to pay a alot to get him here, probably Love and some more. I proposed a trade in Pacers board: Love, Koufos plus 2 our lower picks( Mem & Uta) for Hibbert and D.Jones.
Who else is on board with this trade?

I can't imagine Indiana giving him up. He might be one of the 4 or 5 best centers in the NBA this year. His value is sky high.

I agree - plus the effort he's made in his conditioning has been very impressive, enough to suggest that he'll continue to improve. A trade of Love and some low draft picks doesn't sound too tempting.

Short of sending out Rubio, there's no package the Pacers would take that would get us Hibbert, and Rubio still might not be enough. Hibbert is perfect for them, and you don't give up on a top 5 center with his talent and that kind of motivation.

I tossed out Love/Johnson for Hibbert/George the other day and it was a pretty obvious no from them. I'd even take on TJ Ford and send the Utah pick to get it done and they still wouldn't do it. Hibbert's a stud.

How is it that a guy with actual basketball skill at 7-2 like Hibbert falls out of the lottery but Thabeet goes #2?

There is no way IND does this. I remember during SL O'Brien raving about the work Hibbert was putting in to get quicker.

Doesn't Rambis have a really good relationship with Bynum? What's his injury status? Would the Lakers sell low on him or does it make more sennse for them to just wait and see if he overcomes the injury bug? So many questions.

Either one is going to cost alot of money, either Bynums current deal or Oden as a RFA. I would gamble on Bynum if he comes cheap. I just don't think the Lakers are going to be willing to sell cheap.

Damnit Darko. You looked so promising at the end of last year and this year you look like a 7 feet piece of crap.

Last year Darko played off Jefferson, he looked bad when he logged minutes next to Love even last year. You put Darko next to Bynum or Hibbert and he will much better without the pressure OF carring the offensive load.

I would also try to swap Love for Bynum, it saves Lakers a LOT of million of dollars, like 40 mil just over next 2 years.

Bynum is familiar with Rambis, knows the triangle, is still only 23, and if my meomory serves me right his injuries don't have the same longterm effects as Oden's. (ACl vs. microfracture)

I would flip the F out if the Wolves trade Love for Bynum.Would be a horrible trade for us,Love if give the minutes will be a 20/10 guy for many years to come.Just needs to work on his D which still isn't that good,but he's only 22 or so right now.

I would much rather trade for another young center in Hibbert or Lopez.But both guys would be super hard for us to get besides gutting the roster.

Maybe we could get Hibbert if we trade Love or Beasley/Pek or Kofus and two first round picks might get them to jump.But I would much rather prefer to keep Love over Beasley.

So far I haven't seen enough to make Love untouchable. He's a hell of a rebounder but he's a terrible defender and his offence is more opportunistic then anything else. I think I actually miss Jefferson at this point.

07/08: dislocated kneecap
08/09: torn MCL
09/10: torn Meniscus

All rather minor knee injuries with no longterm effects.

Oden's injuries:
07/08: microfracture surgery (knee)
08/09: foot sprain w/ avulsions, chipped knee cap
09/10: fractured patella

Things break on this dude like he has osteoporosis.

I would roll the dice with it, but I'm an Iggy fan. Between Bynum, Iggy, Rubio, and a top 10 draft pick this year, we'd be adding a ton of net talent. And Bynum and Iggy are both pretty young, especially Bynum.

If you ask Philly fans, they'll hate it, though. Probably Laker fans too.

I don't know about Lakers' fans, but Philly fans seem to be very open about trading Iggy for Love. In fact, the idea for Love for Iggy + protected pick came directly from a sixers fan on the trade board (he proposed a top 7 protected pick).

As far as the Lakers go, I'm not sure how the fans would react, but I could see their actual management being interested in cutting out some or all of Bynum's salary. They're way over the luxury tax, and, so far, they're playing great ball with Gasol at the C and Odom at PF. Right now their backup C situation seems to be Theo Ratliff and Derrick Character. I'd think that Pekovic would be a pretty significant upgrade over both of those guys.
