Question from a 76ers fan

I didnt see a fantasy trade thread , but i wanted to get a general idea about a proposed trade idea.

PHI out : Iguodala + filler ( kapono or speights )
PHI in : K.Love

My reasoning is we desperately need a big man who can rebound..Hawes is tissue paper. Battie is our best big. Speights is a nice young prospect and Iguodala would solidify your backcourt Flynn/Iguodala/Johnson. Just want to know what you guys think.

Also if you have any other proposed offers go ahead and put them in here. Thanks

If we somehow ended up getting an athletic big man that can grab some boards to replace Kevin's rebounding I'd do this in a heartbeat.

Edit: Just to clarify, we'd have to trade one of Beas, Snipes or Webster to get an athletic big man.

Buyer beware on Kevin Love. A team would need to pair him with a great defensive center to be successful.

How bad is he on man to man D? We currently have hawes who is getting like 9 min a game because he doesnt play D and he moves like the tin man before he got oiled. We NEED defense , I know a few of us on the 6ers board have talked about the above trade and for the most part we liked it. Love will give us rebounding , spread the floor a little , and the outlet pass to start our fast break offense.

That's what he's really good or great at. The rest not so much.

So far Kevin Love has been our worst defender out of all 4 guys who get solid minutes in the frontcourt.

Like a poster said above, if we were to get an athletic 4 via trade or a Perry Jones type in the draft then I'd easily do it.

He isn't great on defense at all. Love and Hawes would be ugly. I think Dalembert and Love could've been interesting. Although I think Love would be a good combo with Jrue and Turner.

But I thought I remembered our gm say he didn't like his contract. But that aside I'd do the trade as I really like Iggy's game

His defense needs work, but it seems like people didn't have nearly as big of an issue with it in previous years on this board. Just over the last week or two people have have gone from "it needs work" to "doom-and-gloom let's trade him."

I've been guilty of overreacting lately as well, but I think we need to settle down a little.

I wouldn't be completely opposed to it as i'm not a huge Love supporter and never really have been. My issue would be with taking on all that salary -- because of that I don't think the value is very good for the Wolves here. One or both of Brewer and Telfair would have to be added to the deal.

I would not trade Beas, Snipes, or Webster though. Beas would become the starting PF and Webster, Snipes, and Iggy would split the 2/3 minutes. Getting an athletic center would have to come at the end of the season from trading Flynn or Rubio (at this point Flynn, but we'll have to wait and see how he looks this year first) and/or our eventual top 10 pick this year.

I wouldn't add one of them into a Love-Iggy trade either. I'd try to swing a multiple team trade or a seperate trade to get an athletic big man (center preferably).

Idk the contract situation for Webster or Snipes. Would Speights interest any of you. He is about 6'10 got an offensive game ( although he can be a black hole on offense at times ) and he has potential to be a real good player. His biggest problem is probably work ethic or just hustle. Change might do him good.

Ya, I saw that. I would not do that. I would move one of our redundant Point Guards instead.

You'd want to have a super glut at the wings? Even disregarding Brewer and Ellington we'd still have Snipes, Webster and Beasley for spot minutes playing on the wings. I mean, it should not be a reason to potentially dismiss a trade but if I had the choice I'd rather trade one of our wings.

^^^No, I'd move Beasley to the PF spot full time.

I like Beasley right where he is, he isn't big enough to do anything defending PFs

Can't be any worse than Love. I think he's about the same size as Love too, isn't he?

Yeah, Beasley's had a longer wingspan and standing reach than Love when they came into the league.

but he looks great at SF, whats the point of putting him at PF, just so Love doesn't play?
