Beat me to it. Doesn't matter, I don't see him sticking around.

I remember us being on Denver's "list" and I also remember reading Ronzone mentioned them having asked about him during the summer. He said they got told he only wanted to go to New York so yeah, Walters is about 2 months too late.

I think it would have to be for Beasley. Beasley and Anthony are similar enough to where their games may clash on the court.

Unless of course the strategy is to bring in Rubio, trade our draft pick for legit talent (package centering around Iggy or Ellis) and hope that's enough to convince him to sign a max deal.
Edit: Bah, I'm not going to get my hopes up in this one.

Stop-n-Pop and some of the others at Canis Hoopus seem pretty convinced that the plan from the front office is to trade Love and move Beasley to power forward. Of course, even if that's true and they could create a trade around Love and a re-signed Anthony it does seem like there would be too much overlap between Beasley and Anthony. If I'm not misrepresenting Stop-n-pop and crew, I believe their understanding (concern?) is that the wolves are targeting Oden, which I think everyone would agree is a very high risk/high reward trade. I'd prefer a deal centered around Favors myself, though I don't think Love has had enough 30/30 games to convince New Jersey to give him up yet.

I don't think he's interested, he seems obsessed with ruining his career in NY, I'm fine w/ that. If the Wolves trade Love, it should be a top shelf big man w/ some D,...Josh Smith, Bogut, Lopez, Hibbert, M Gasol etc...otherwise I'd do what shouldn't be done and go after Oden in free agency, or take on a salary guy like Kaman/Bynum/Nene. Bringing in a SF and telling Beasley "you've been amazing at SF, now we're going to move you back to PF where you were mediocre for the last 2 years" seems like a bad idea.

Trading Love is tricky because we have no one else who can rebound even a little. It means completely revamping the front court. I suppose you could hope Beasley regains his K-State form, but he hasn't been close to being a dominant rebounder in the pros.

I maintain the same position I had when Melo first hinted he wanted to be traded.
If MIN is involved in a Melo trade, it will include the use of our cap space, and we won't be the team ending up with Anthony.

For those of you with a better BB IQ then I, is Anthony a winner? I have always thought of him as having a big head but seems like he is relatively mature for a young star. I could be wrong....

I think that was before Beasley emerged this past week and looked every bit a future SF.
This is a bunch of huey, nothing more.

I do think the Wolves are slowly moving towards becoming a more attractive place for big name free agents, we're not nearly there yet. If Beas continues on the pace he's on,becomes a franchise player, Rubio comes over and Wes becomes the all around player he's capable of being, this could be a nice spot to land for a free agent. Our financial house is in order and we have some good assets, cap space, and freedom to make moves. Carmelo this year? Nope. But a tier one big within the next 2 years or so is a distinct possibilty, either by free agency or trade.

The question is do we need a big name free agent? Beas has been scoring a lot but also been taking 20-30 shots. If we add a big name will there be enough shots to go around? I believe we may be better off with a borderline all-star type that has a good attitude and plays good team basketball. But can you win a championship without a superstar?
