Kings looking for a PG -> Flynn trade
Flynn/Utah/Memphis pick for Kings pick #1 overall protected, if not conveyed this year, they don't get the Memphis pick and their pick is unprotected next year.

Re: Kings looking for a PG -> Flynn trade
Rubio isn't a sure thing and Flynn's value is lower than it will be. He's also friends with everyone on this young team and i dont want to screw up chemistry and morale for the hell of it. It's certainly possible Flynn might be better than Rubio when it's all and done. I'd rather the Wolves be in the position to figure out who is better, not the Kings.
Also, whatever we trade Flynn for will be just as duplicative as something else we already got.

Re: Kings looking for a PG -> Flynn trade
This is interesting.
I'm not sure everyone heard this rumor. Supposedly, an insider said that the Kings were really interested in Flynn at the time of the draft, and was willing to trade Tyreke Evans on draft night if the Wolves would give them Flynn and James Johnson. Supposedly, Kahn tried from pick 11 on to try to trade up to select Johnson and complete this trade. He was shut out again and again, and finally CHI selected Johnson. Kahn hoped to be able to pluck him away with other assets later, but the Bulls really liked JJ's potential at the time. Obviously Tyreke turned out to be great, but imagine what Bill Simmons would be saying about Kahn if he came out of the draft with Rubio and Tyreke?
Personally, I don't think its a stretch to imagine that Flynn would have done better in SAC than in MIN (15 PPG, 6 APG).
Anyway, if this rumor is true, I could certainly see SAC's front office still being interested in Jonny Flynn. He'd have to show he was healthy of course, but perhaps SAC could come up with some sort of offer. An unprotected pick is tough though.

Re: Kings looking for a PG -> Flynn trade
Yeah, I want to make SURE we end up with a stud PG, between Flynn and/or Rubio. If we trade Flynn now, then Rubip doesn't live up to expectations (which I doubt, but you never know) and we end up with mediocre PGs for the next 10 years I would be devastated. I don't think we should trade Flynn or Rubio until we have them both playing on the same team and we can see how each of them develop. Rubio might only be a 20 MPG PG his rookie year, etc.
Also, I have a major ronzone for Jonny Flynn and think he will improve a lot with better shooters around him.

Last year Jonny had Brew, Gomes, Pavlovic.. I mean really?
Webby, Wes and Beas.. assists = skyrocket.

Hopefully he'll be smart enough to know we need a point guard that makes the team play instead of over dribbling, like Ridnour seems incapable of so far.

Re: Kings looking for a PG -> Flynn trade
Before we make any knee-jerk trades, we need to wait until Jonny is healthy. Ridnour played probably the best season of his career backing up Jennings last year. Wait a bit, hopefully his trade value increases in the meantime, and trade him off then. I don't want to trade Luke, then a Jonny setback happens (it is his sophomore season after all), and end up with a longterm PG rotation of Telfair/Gaines.

I'm salivating at the thought of trading Flynn and a couple who cares picks for Perry Jones, thats an all timer, not a knee jerk trade.

I like this trade, devilz.
I don't think jonny or those picks will be worth a poo at the end of the day.
adding the kings pick, rubio, and our own pick to our current roster would look QUITE nice next year. I really think we're missing webster more than we're missing jonny right now.

It's probably a good trade for us, but teams like the Kings typically don't trade away their pick with little to no protection.

Not sure why the Kings would trade away Perry Jones for Jonny Gay Hips.
