I guess Rambis is expecting a lot more out of Beasley too.

Milicic took a moment to express his appreciation to the Wolves' coaching staff and team president of basketball operations David Kahn for not giving up on him when, in Milicic's words, he "couldn't throw the ball into the (bleeping) ocean."

I love it. Nice to hear that Kahn took the time to have a one-on-one with Darko to tell him he still believed in him. I'm probably going to buy one of those black jerseys, and it might be a Darko one. I wish Darko would just put his first name on the back of his jersey. If Nene can just put his nickname on the back of his jersey, Darko should be able to use his first name.

You could also be unique and customize the black jersey with DARKO on the back, just sayin.

Favorite part:
"I like double-teams," he said. "I know I can't finish every play. If I see double-teams coming at me, I know one of my teammates will be open and I can get the ball to them."

Al Jefferson: "I like double-teams, he said. "That way, when I force up contested shots and make about 20% of them, people recognize me as a dominant, unstoppable low-post player."

This is what happens when 12 year old Kings fans get a spot writing for PBBT. Though the italicism was cute.

Nene doesn't have his "nickname" or "first name" on his jersey, he has his full name. He legally changed his name to just "Nene" a few years ago. I believe after his first year in the league.

LOL. I hope that guys editor has as much patience and belief in him as Kahn has for Darko because like Darko, that guy needs a lot of work. Either that or he will land a multi year deal with ESPN and be on TV every week.

Said Mr Chauncey Billups in 2005 during his visit to Detroit radio station WXYTAM 1270, about Brown's treatment of Darko during his tenure:

"Larry beat him up too much. He tore the kid's confidence apart too much, and it was tough for him to recover," Billups said. "The kid has unbelievable talent. There's nothing he can't do out there on the court. In the playoffs, we're smiling and laughing and having fun out there. I've never seen Darko smile one day ever in practice or playing, and that's a problem."

He's also an incredible coach. The guy wins.

Unless you are talking about the Knicks, or the Bobcats, or team USA in 04 (where he refused to play Lebron) Look I'm not going to say he's a bad coach his record is undeniable but his largest successes have come with the Sixers and the Pistons. Whenever people recount those teams the prevailing notion is never "Larry Brown coached the **** out of them!"

The Pistons described LB as very un-enjoyable (he never ever let Ben Wallace shoot), and with Flip the next season made it all the way to the ECF. He didn't fashion the team (the team was together the year before and arguably may have won a ring without him) considering the Lakers were imploding (Shaq-Kobe) (Karl Malone-Kobe feud) (Gary Payton I think I'm still 25 feud) (Rick fox: maybe it's time to start acting feud) They also said they started having way more fun with Flip Saunders.

Again he had no say in the team, and if you look at the Knicks (were he lobbied for guys like Steve Francis) But LB at the helm is not always very good.

The Sixers can't say I watched a lot but contemporary understanding is that they were a bad team+ AI...so the team really worked with AI, and Larry Brown engineered the D, what's next? Mike Brown was a good coach in Cleveland?

Is the guy a bad coach? no, but when it comes to being flexible or working with players all signs point to he's an old school ass hole who refuses to modify. that's dangerous, especially when so much time and money is being invested in players it's dangerous

The Knicks didn't give him a chance and he overacheived with Bobcats last season. He took the Clippers to the playoffs and he had 50 win teams with the Spurs and the Pacers. To say he didn't fashion the Pistons misses the point, nobody's calling him a great GM. He's a guy who gets the most out of his players more consistently than any other coach in the NBA.
