Kosta Koufos

Post#1 » by vanhill » Sun Dec 5, 2010 3:23 am

Wolves's fans, do you think koufos can blossom to a all-star player? He has decent foot speed and shooting touch. He looks like he is someone special..Any thoughts?

Didn't the league forbid players posting/tweeting from the game?

This was my first thought. Kosta's gonna get himself fined.

i just thought there are not many 7 footer in the league who have decent potential, was wondering if he gets more minutes, how much impact he can bring to the game.
Well, sounds like he is not well-liked in minny.

He's a backup at best, maybe a starter in a Miami/Boston situation, but never an All Star.

He looks better then a throw in though.

No. Maybe a decent backup center though.

I dont get to see him a lot in games. But i was watching the highlight clip on youtube, when he played forthe buckeyes and the greece national team, he was pretty good in these games. Strong and Atheletic for a 7- footer. He can shoot, rebound and block some shots. Yes, the hightlight show the bright side of his game but I just thought if he was given more minutes, he could be a decent center in the league. Like Andrew Bogut, Brook Lopez and Marc Gasol. These players have decent mid range game and runs the floor well.

Does anyone remember that time Koufos practically took a 3 pointer with plenty of time on the clock? That man must have had some pretty big cajones to take that kind of risk.

I don't think anyone here dislikes Kosta, the thread topic is just a bit outlandish and laughable is all.

In all seriousness, i have been really pleasantly surprised with his flashes of play, with what i thought was a 'dumped' player when we were basically handed him with the Jefferson trade. He has a lot to develop on, and i think he has much improvement to make as a player, but right now his ceiling is looking to be backup Centre at best. And i don't think the Wolves is ultimately going to be the place where he takes his biggest developmental strides as a player over his career. He's currently a project number behind too many people on this team and I wouldn't think he would get as much coaching focus put on him as a number of other young players in this team. Darko and Pekovic would be taking a lot of his coaching allocation for front court development, and then we have Love and a lot of people of the opinion we are still looking for a more sturdy/longterm 2nd C/PF option to play with Darko/Pek/Love.

He's done well with the time that he has been given on the court, has had some absolutely bonehead moments out there, but overall he has been good value for what he currently is to our team. Certainly does not warrant an 'all-star' topic.

oh well, true.
So let's just wait and see what the young man can give to his team.

So far he looks like a solid role player. Nothing more.

Solid role player as in "10 minutes-off-the-bench-guy-if-your-legitimate-back-up-big-man-is-in-foul-trouble-or-hurt"-guy, then yes. If he was an actual role player he would have played more than a few spot minutes when Pekovic was out.
