Larry Saunders from the Bucks

That dude is exactly what we need. Too bad Mil will not let him go. He's 6'11 PF/C, great athlete, very very long reach, has a jumper, more of a shotblocker for now but not a good overall defender yet. Bucks already start him next to Bogut at PF.

Terrible hands.

But I hear he is related to Steve Saunders from KEG house.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I like Sanders alot too. I read somewhere that we would have drafted him if Milwaukee hadn't picked him one slot before us. We traded the pick since he wasn't there.

In my opinion he's already a very good overall defender. Much more than just a shotblocker.

One of the better picks in a pretty crappy draft. Not an NBA starter though, good defensive backup C. Milwaukee won't trade him unless someone severely overpays at this point.

I think Kahn still would have done the webster trade had Sanders fallen. It was reported that Webster got a call from his agent saying he'd probably be going to minny (if Babbitt fell) after pick 10 or 12 (I can't remember which). Which would have made our last target (more desireable than Webster) Paul George or Xavier Henry.

Jon Givony of DX reported Milwaukee's promise to Sanders @15 a few days before the draft.

Well ramming more rookies and young guys onto our team seems like a nice idea, but it really isn't. He'll be a decent player in years to come, but what our team needs is a solid vet to bring defense. Pryz, Camby, Biedrins, Ben Wallace? Adding another rookie to what we already have is just going to add more facepalm/rookie mistake moments.

A cheap and healthy Przybilla next offseason is an interesting idea.

The vanilla gorilla was born and raised in Minny. I could see that happening. I've always liked his game, but at his age he might want to tag along with a contender.

I liked Sanders coming out, but its hard to project him as much of a difference maker right now -- especially as an addition to a Bucks team that is much worse this year than last. Thus him being "just what we need" is a stretch. i don't think he would be an improvement over Tolliver anytime soon. He needs to add 20 pound first and that will take a couple years IF it ever happens.

Tolliver is a hustle player that worked his way into NBA, Saunders is a more talented type and has huge defensive potential, he's capable of playing 5 & 4 positions. while Tolliver is only a 4.

Whatever. If he's as good as you say he is why would the Bucks trade him? I'm guessing they drafted him because liked him. We would have to blow them away and obviously we aren't going to do that. /thread

Sanders isn't a hustle type of player though. He wasn't at VT and he's not one now. He's just an athletic, foul prone rookie right now.
