Put this up on the trade board in the Charlotte firesale thread. I'm curious what you guys would think about it.
Minnesota receives - Gerald Wallace, Matt Carroll
Charlotte receives - Wesley Johnson, Sebastian Telfair, Wayne Ellington, Utah 1st
This team would take on a fair amount of money, but Carroll's contract decreases each year and Wallace earns less then a guy like Igoudala. I guess the question would be whether he could play SG and how healthy he'll be able to stay at 28 and with his play style.
So, YAY or NAY?

Re: MIN-CHA
Wallace is a great player, but he'll be on the decline by the time we're in the playoff picture. It would mean we'd have to play another player out of position too. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense for us.

Re: MIN-CHA
I don't think that he can play shooting guard. It's often suggested that position doesn't matter in the wolves current offense, but I still don't see it. But it's also such a high risk move - as awesome as he can be, he's about 1 more concussion from hanging it up forever. A Wallace without the history of head injuries I'd make the trade for, but then the wolves would have to offer more I think. Big gamble.

Re: MIN-CHA
so how exactly is it a good idea to get a player whose main strengths will really clash with having 3 able players on the 3-5 spots ? Wallace crashes the boards and attacks the rim, how is he going to do that next to Love/beasley/Darko ? Don´t get me wrong, the guy is a great player. But the timberwolves need help on the guard-play front, shooting, passing and creating. None of theese would be helped by Wallace.

Not a good fit anymore.

Great for Charlotte. Nonsensical for rebuilding Wolves.

Re: MIN-CHA
Really? Ok, I guess. I thought having a veteran like Wallace, who has a similar skillset to Igoudala but is paid less, would be a nice addition but I can see why people don't like it.

I must admit Wallace may be the most underrated player in the NBA but he is not a great fit...

Wallace is my favorite current player in the NBA. The thought of G-Force as a Wolf makes me drool. So my heart says yes...
But, for all the reasons listed above, my head says no.

Re: MIN-CHA
Yeah i'd love Wallace, but he'll be 29 next summer. And IMO, Johnson has the potential to be a Wallace type with shooting.
