Kevin Love is officially a 20/15 player(Who the hell would have thought that) and Mayo is backing up Xavier Henry to be "A spark off the bench". So much for superstar.

Let's give this man some LOVE!!

Tor wrote:Well he does look a little more explosive with his leap in that video...but I still don't think he'd be a good fit for our team, and I'm not even convinced he'll be anything more than an average role player at best. Classic big man who dominated in college, but doesn't have the body or athleticism to take on the NBA. Sean May, anyone? It also depends on which team he ends up with. For instance, I could see him flourishing in a place like Chicago. But for the Wolves...let's not draft someone who will keep Big Al out of his natural position at PF.

Actually, pretty spot on(still from the same topic mentioned above)

This is what we call intangibles everybody and love is overflowing with it. Complete opposite of Jordan who just wants to be an atheltic 7 footer and call it a day.

Love is now Roy and Mayo is Foye:

hahaha I wasn't a member on here back when this trade happened but I remember coming home from work to find out Mayo was traded for Love and was furious. I would have been right there with the rest of them. Glad to see its working out though

I deserve some credit because I wanted to acquire both Lopez brothers.

that'd be pretty dynamite wouldnt it, I wonder how they'd look as a starting duo in the NBA if one of them had to be at the 4

it took a little longer than six months (actually it took two years), but my prediction came true! I almost stopped believing in it last season with al the coach drama, but cudos to Love, he proved me wrong.

I was skimming through the threads and you, Devilz, Rev and maybe one or two others actually tried to make some sense of the trade and even argued Love was > Mayo while the rest of us went ape ****

yeah, I was never that high on Mayo and we got Mike Miller in that trade too (sadly, he sucked, but we turned him into Rubio, so it's all good).

Haha I remember that day. I thought "oh god don't trade Mayo" and managed to get through the whole 1st round until they finally did. I then came here, posted a whole lot of BS and went to listen to sad music.

But now I want Love's babies, so it all evens out.

I find it interesting that I was called a troll for proposing this.

I really hated the reaction on the thread. In his defense, I was obsessed with Lopez. I won't post the responses from my Rashad McCants trades. That would just be mean.

Edit: I just finished reading all of the responses from my trade proposal. A lot of people acted as if I stole their baby when I posted that trade.

I'm about 95% certain that Rev was upset with the trade early on, he wanted Mayo if I'm not mistaken. Rev likes his Wolves guys so I'm not surprised he was arguing for Love here. Devilz has always liked Love from what I remember. I was pretty stonchly on the Mayo bandwagon. I felt like I was kicked in the chest when Mayo was traded that night. Love has since proven that he's the real deal, certainly not a superstar but definitely better than Mayo is likely ever to be at this point. I refuse to acknowledge Mchale as a genius for this trade though. :D

:o ...well...I guess there's no taking this back now, so I may as well stand by it. Way to ruin our franchise, McHale!! Oh what's that?? We STILL need a backup SG? OH I WONDER WHY!!! **** GREAT! WHEN DID WE HAVE ONE OF THOSE THAT WE TRADED AWAY???? NO, INSTEAD WE GET KEVIN **** LOVE ASKING FOR MY COAT!!! IT'S MY **** COAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming in to this season, I thought Love had a lot to prove. Well, I have to give him credit. He has proven to be able to get his points in the flow of the game. He has learned how to score inside. He is by no means dominant inside. But, he has learned how to convert or get fouled and not get everything blocked. He has perfected his 3 point shot. And he does all of this without dominating the ball. Superglue. I really only have one remaining concern with Superglue. I am concerned with his longevity. He one of the youngest players in the league. But watching him get down the court, he looks like an old man. Since his game is not based on athleticism, maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe it means he will have a 20 year career. He's proved me wrong so far. Go SuperGlue.

I can't recall what I wrote in particular back then but I was really disappointed when I found out about the trade after we picked Mayo. My frustration was not so much about trading for the "lesser" player with less potential (perceived value at that time IIRC)because, quite frankly, my knowledge about college players is very limited. It was about having to take on Antoine Walker and Buckner. Yes, we got rid of Marko Jaric but I was still disappointed at that time.

Now, not so much 8-)

Interesting tid bit I read on CBS sports:

--F Kevin Love made his first three three-point attempts, which extended his streak of consecutive 3's without a miss to eight. That's a franchise record, breaking the old one held by four players, most recently Rodney Carney.

I just didn't want to pick Love at #3. I think I was happy enough with the trade though. We got rid of the "mistake."

There was a time when most of us wanted DeAndre Jordan. Which goes to prove that much of the time, we don't know what the **** we are talking about.

I think Mayo needs a fresh start on a new team and he will thrive.

Not only did we get Love for Mayo, but we also unloaded Jaric and we got Mike Miller who of course helped us get Rubio.
