What our end of game plays SHOULD be

I've been getting pretty frustrated at our late game execution and it seems like more often than not it's one of two things:
bad shot by Beasley
bad shot by Luke.

A lot of people are suggesting Luke Ridnour should drive and dish but I think our go to move should actually be:
posting up Love or Milicic. Surprisingly I like posting up Milicic more. He's taller and a great passer who's really nailed that hook shot. Furthermore Love can spread the floor and get open for a jumper if they double Darko. I remember specifically in the OKC game (not last nights the one before) it felt like if we had kept going to Darko good things would have happened. Not necessarily scoring but finding open cutters or something like that.

Secondary as opposed to Ridnour driving and dishing I give the ball to Beasley and let him drive and dish. He's tall and usually commands double teams late in game. Ridnour, Love, wes and now Webster can all spot up for open shots if the D collapses. (Love and Beaz crash the boards in this scenario also)

Maybe this all really obvious or just stupid but this is what I think.

Darko's left hook. If they collapse he finds the open shooter.

exactly late in game is when we should be pounding it inside more than ever

It should be a weird, off-balance Corey Brewer circus shot. They always go in.

Thanks for reminding me, our end of game shots are:
Beasley bad shot
Ridnour bad shot
Brewer inexplicable shot that you get really mad at but sometimes goes in and leaves you confused

Don't be silly. It should be either a Telfair deep, desperation 3, or a Telfair off-kilter drive to the basket with 3 defenders already in the lane ready to block the heck out of him.

I agree. Give it to Brewer, but blind-fold him with his headband first. The half-court desperation shots are soo last season.

I like when we get a couple passes in first. My favorite is Pick and Roll with Ridnour and big man, where after big man rolls perfectly and is wide open under the hoop Ridnour dribbles and then passes to a barely open wing guy

LOL, I'd love to see that play. Ridnour passes to Brewer, Beasley runs up behind him and pulls his headband down over his eyes, Brewer drives, jumps sideways and hits a left-handed through-the-legs bank shot at the buzzer.

See what I did there?

The end of game plays should be through Beasley first, then Darko. It's a lot harder to get the ball to the bigs in that situation then a perimeter player, especially if Darko has been shooting well, and isn't this what the team is grooming Beasley for anyway?

Go to the post. Highest percentage shot we can get.

Bring back Cardinal, have him come of the bench without playing a signle minute before that. Because he's so ice cold, he'll have ice water in his veins and be able to nail a 3 every time!

Give it to Love, Darko or Beasley. Beasley needs to learn sometime if he's going to be our go to guy that he can't have tunnel vision and that just because the idea is for him to take the shot when he gets swarmed that someone is open.

Post entry pass to Beasley between the right block and 3 point line. Passer cuts to the other side of the court so Beasley gets isolation with his man. Game over.

They run that early in games and it's nearly unstoppable. I have no idea why they don't go back to it more in the 4th quarter.

I don't know what it should be, but i do know it shouldn't be giving the ball to Beasley to touch it. At all. I'd give it to Martell maybe. Darko probably shouldn't touch it either.

We got a little bit of a same issue in POR. Brandon Roy is not able to get it done more and has directly killed us in a few games. Now Andre was the man vs Magic - and good things happened.

Beasley is fully capable of being a late game clutch guy, but that part of his game needs to develop, which means you will have to give it to him in these positions and he will fail numerous times. Kobe wasn't the late game killer he became until multiple failures (Utah airballs?). I like putting it in the post to Darko but you gotta have good movement on the perimeter then, guys can't just stand there and watch, unless he's feeling it, Darko's not gonna just put Big Al moves on a guy. Maybe they should have a two-man game going with Beasley and Darko, or Love.
