Wolves All Stars

I am sure this is an issue that has already been raised, but I voted for the all star game this evening. Obviously I voted for K-Love and Beas as I am a homer (sorry Brewer) but I also realized how bad the Western Center options are. No Center on the list is having a great year (Nene arguably) and this got me thinking...

This may be near impossible, but let's use a write in campaign to get Darko to the game. There is a write in box (drop-down menu) where you can select one "Write In" player. Also, this year you can text a players name to 69622 (MYNBA, clever) for one vote. As I said, this may be impossible, but with 41 days still to vote, why the hell not. No other Center really deserves it.

Thoughts? Is this pointless? Anyone willing to join me in voting regularly as well as sending a text everyday? Take 2 minutes out of your RealGM time and write in Darko as well as vote for the other Wolves.

If curious, here is the ballot list: http://www.nba.com/2010/news/11/18/all- ... index.html
And you can vote at NBA.com, somewhere on the mainpage

Of course, because the title is "wolves all stars"
Lets get Love and Beasley to the game while we are at it

I remember trying to rally votes for Antoine Walker for a guard spot a few years ago. I'm down.

All we need is the backing and support of China to make this happen...

I've been writing in Darko almost daily since the voting started. Not that he is really all-star caliber but the list of WC centers is just pathetic.

I am with you on Love, Beasley and the write in for Darko.

I think the popularity/big market voting results give you 3-5 players a year that don't belong in the all star game for that season. I know the way I think it should be done won't happen but here it is: Let the fans vote for 8-10 PF & C (combined) 8-10 SG & SF (combined) and 4-5 PG - for each of the Western and Eastern conferences. Then let the players and/or coaches choose 4 PF/C, 4 SG/SF and 2 PG's for each conference leaving 2 at large spots on each team. The appointed all star coach can select these at large players from the fan list or as they see fit.

I laughed during the Chicago game when Jim Pete talked about how awful the fans were at picking the starters for the ASG, then in his next breath said he made a point to log on and vote for Darko every day.

Larry Coon just tweeted that Love should be an All Star

@LarryCoon How do you omit a 20/15 guy? RT @jobber99: the wolves have a woeful record--what are the chances kevin love participates in ASG

Love has less than 82,000 votes so far. Fan voting is ridiculous.

Fan voting is so dumb. There needs to be a different system.
Look at Centers, Yao Ming is kicking the tar out of everyone. He has only played in 5 games...After than...Andrew Bynum! WTF???? He has played 2 games this year. 2 GAMES!!!!
Makes me sick.

Yao's career is probably done now, too.

Yeah, which means somehow Bynum will be the starting center for the allstar team. That is (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

NM I guess Stern picks a replacement at center. Maybe Darko has a chance!

I don't think a team sitting at 6 wins can claim to have any all-stars. Let's at least wait until they play .500 ball.

It is an interesting question .. who would Stern choose at center?

You know he's going to do what he thinks is best for the profitability of the NBA.

If Bynum is healthy by then, he might choose him because he's from a big market, people know him from the championship, and he could say he's meeting the will of the voters.

Since he's awarding a starting position, maybe he just picks Tim Duncan from the forwards for NBA sentimentalist's sake?

Or maybe start brothers Mark and Pau for the human interest? "Did you dream about this playing together in your backyard?"

I think if Darko keeps playing like he has been, he'll be part of the conversation.

Unless he somehow, miraculously, ends up averaging at least 15/7.5 at decision-time, there is a round possibility of 0.1% this happening.
