Too good for GSW.... Iggy, Webster & a draft pick is too much for what is essentially Ellis + Filler (assuming Gadz). If you take Webster out and replace with Brewer I think it's fair.

We like to give trade concepts their own thread so we can mock them without getting in the way of whatever next can't miss trade discussion that comes next.

I would say no thanks from MIN. We like Webster and Wes at the 2/3 in a rotation with Beas. Ellis is a magnificent scorer (we saw it last night) but our team doesn't really struggle to score points and he certainly wouldn't help our D. Plus this would cost us a pick too.

I think the value is fair, but the fit is poor.

Let's see .. Brackins (drafted in the late 1st) for the UTA 1st is fair.

Show of hands for anyone that would trade the 4-pick, locked into four years on rookie scale, for Monta Ellis?

Anyone?

And does anyone want to trade Webster for Brandan Wright and Charlie Bell's wasted money?

Monta Ellis doesn't do anything good for us, unlike Webster and Wes, probably our two best defenders... silly trade for the Wolves.

Monta Ellis would immediately be your second best player, interchanging with Love for best player depending on the night.

He is better than the #4 pick in this draft and whatever signings David Kahn does with your cap money.

Ellis is a better player. He is not more valuable.

I think Ellis for Johnson is actually pretty fair, but I'm notoriously higher on Warriors players than some here (see Magic Randolph). However, from a fit stand point Ellis does not make a lot of sense between Rubio and Beasley, two high usage players. That's before you factor in our offense which requires us to move the ball in and out of the post -- thus making our post players high usage players as well. Thus, as the Wolves are presently constructed we would not be able to utilize Ellis as well as a team like the Warriors and we should rightly value him less. For our team, Johnson or Webster is a much better fit longterm between Rubio and Beasley. If we were to add Ellis it would make more sense to ship out Beasley and have a lineup that was Rubio-Ellis-Johnson.

change Webster w/ Brewer and I'd do it. Pretty damn good trade for Philly imo. Completely bails them out of their no rebounding frontcourt, heinous shooting wings mess.

I would be in favor of that.

Offensively it'd be good. Defensively it'd probably be bad.

Ellis has pretty good defensive skills, he'd be way smaller, but whatever he gives up in contests and post defense against bigger SG's I think he'd get back in quickness advantage off the dribble.

Having a go-to guy like that would be huge, I'd trade anything outside of Love to snag him.

I'd love to have Monta on this team, the problem with this trade is that it ships out the two wings who would work best with him. Webster and Johnson are good athletes with size and defensive potential, and they keep the ball moving on offense as well as stretching the floor.

I like just about everything about a potential Monta acquisition, like putting a Darko/Love/Webster/Wes/Monta lineup out there and pick and rolling teams to death with Monta and Darko while the other three make defenses pay if they collapse to the lane (although Rambis would probably be too stubborn to employ that too often). I also like the amount of pressure that a hypothetical Monta/Rubio pairing would put on opposing backcourts.

Like I said in the thread on the trade board, I could see/would hope the Wolves have interest (although Kahn said he didn't have interest in Kevin Martin due to his contract, and Ellis is inked to a similar deal), but the most I could see them giving up would be something similar to the Al Jefferson Special. I'm guessing that wouldn't interest most Warrior fans, unless a third team were brought in to take Biedrins, in which case some may be more amenable, but old rem's head would explode.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

There's a rumor floating around that the Magic are trading Rashard Lewis for Gil Arenas. Two of the worst contracts in the league. My thought was.. what are the Wizards willing to do to get out of the Lewis contract. Would they swap Wall for Rubio and maybe another player if we took on Lewis' contract?

* After a little research I found that Lewis' contract is even worse than I thought.. nevermind :)
