If NJN apporached us with this deal, straight up, would you rather have Beasley or Favors?

Favors. Defense wins championsips. When Rubio gets here we'll have less of a need for the type of iso scorerer we all want Beasley to become and players like Favors just don't come along that often.

If you're basing it on defense, who's going to be better, Favors or Ibaka?

I'm mildly in favor of Beasley as Favors and Love just brings us back to where we were with Love and Jefferson. I don't see many games where we can play the two of them at the same time. That being said, I don't want to deal Love to bring Favors in. Beasley, though frustratingly bad on D, is one of the few guys who can take the ball to the rim and create his own show on this team. I would be game with sticking with him for a bit until another option at the 3 shows up.

Despite the rediculous numbers Love has been putting up, I just don't see him ever taking us to the promise land, so I said Favors with the expectation that we could get a great return on Love at this point.

I'd include both our lower picks to get Favors for Beasley. Favors is a great PROSPECT. We can build him gradually behind Love and Darko and figure out later whether he takes Love's place or develops in mini-Dwight at C or doesn't develop and stays as a back-up PF/C longterm.

I think Milicic, Favors and Love would make a very nice three big rotation. Favors measured up with almost identical measurements to Dwight Howard and because he's so young (I think youngest in draft class), he might even grow a tad more therefore I think he can play some center. He is smaller than Jefferson but he's ten times the athlete that Jefferson is.

I do think we need a scoring wing but because Love is our PF for the forseeable future we can't have an equally bad defensive player at SF which is what Beasley is. In addition, while Beasley is our best scorer I don't think he'll ever become a true #1 (please work on your right hand) and he doesn't really do anything that well but score. At times the team actually plays much better w/o Beas because he is such a ball stopper.

If Kahn could someone turn Beas, Brewer, Pek, Tolliver, Ridnour, our cap space and the Memphis and Utah #1s into Iggy and Favors, I think with the addition of Rubio we would have a balanced core which can play decent D. This is all a pipe dream as NJ isn't trading Favors for anything short of Melo and the way Philly is playing I don't think Iggy can be had as a salary dump anymore.

What if we swing Beasley and picks to Denver in a Melo to NJ trade?

If Favors would swap with Beasley right now, who's gonna score for us consistently. Love, and who else?

Not necessarily. The idea behind this poll was brought up by a NJN poster on the trade board (as incentive for a nastier part of the trade), and I couldn't tell him if MIN fans would even do Beasley for Favors straight up.

On one hand, there are rumors that the front office values Beasley even over Love, because they feel he has the potential to be a 1A scorer in the NBA, which is very rare and something we desperately need. However, we also have a pressing need for athleticism and defense, which is something Favors could provide in spades. Moreover, he may be a great fit next to Rubio. I really don't know what side people would come down on.

Meanwhile, let's get back to the "pipe dream" part. NJN is already on board offering Favors in a Melo deal (if he's willing to extend), but DEN has said they aren't interested, and wants them to up their offer. My guess is that yesterday's trade for additional picks is not to send them directly to DEN, but because DEN said they wouldn't make a Melo deal that left them over the lux. MIN is in a great position to help facilitate that type of swap.

As for Iguodala, you've got pieces here that are more than just cap space. I don't elieve Iguodala is going to cost as many trade assets as some people believe, because he's paid excessively well for a guy that has clearly shown he can't be a Number 1, and he may be hindering the development of their future -- Evan Turner.

Crap spread about by Canis posters shouldn't count as rumors.

At C. Favors is till only 19 and came into the league with measurements remarkably similar to Dwight Howard's. He has plenty of time and the potential to develop his body to the point that he can play the C full time.

On top of that, the team always seems to play better (the offense flows much better) when Beas is on the bench. Whenever he's in the game, it seems like iso after iso after iso.

What are you so bitter about? All "rumours" are crap spread by someone.

Anyway, I'd probably choose Beasley. You need an ISO scorer to win championships as much as you need defence and Favors' doesn't look like he has that "take you out back" attitude that dominant guys do.

The other thing is, he's not a C. He could play there, sure, but long term if you want the best from him it'd be at PF preferably with Darko at C. But that also means, long term, that Love would have to be moved. I don't know if I want to do that even with his defensive woes.

Not sure what evidence you have to support calling me "bitter". There's rumors from reputable sources, such as journalists who trade in rumors via their profession, and then there's "rumors" created by kids on the internet that claim their season ticket holders who are privy to certain information.

It's not the first time you've shot down rumours because they didn't come from a "journalist". Honestly I think you just miss the point of these rumours, but I'm not going to make a big deal of it so yeah.
