Orlando looks like they need a bigman ASAP

And they are "all in" this year.
So... Anybody's willin' to trade Darko back to Florida?
Something along the lines of Darko for Redick, rights to Fran Vasquez, Orton or maybe picks? With Ronzone's international ties and Rubio being his friend, Fran will probably strongly consider coming over, right? Redick is a player, he always produced there when given a chance, I think he can be a long-term solution on SG.

Absolutely not. I'd much rather have the wings we have than Redick and I don't want to trade one of our best players for a collection of lesser players and one that might never come.

That is just absolutely brutal. Redick is way way way way overpaid and worse than webster wes and beasley.

Orton is sorta intriguing, but no thanks.

This is almost lock-worthy. Darko is as big of a difference maker as Love or Beasley. The only Spanish player I'd consider trading Darko for is Pau Gasol, and maaaaaaaybe Marc.

I'd love to have Reddick's shooting if we had a PG who could routinely drive to the hole, draw attention and dish, or a post player who could draw double/triple teams giving him space to shoot. We have neither of those, so this isn't a good trade, Darko is more important to what we do than Reddick would be.
I do love JJ though, he isn't the fastest or strongest, but he just gets it done. Great shooter, good spacing/anticipation, he even manages to not do too bad on the defensive side either. This is the type of player we need, just bad timing, and the price is too high with Orlando.

Redick is a team player imo. He was probably the only player on Magic who stepped up vs. Boston (besides Howard). He doesn't have flashy stats, but he's better than Morrow for example. As far as shooters go, he's elite.

I posted this over at Canis.
shrink wrote: With ORL going all-in, once Darko and Pek are healthier, I think I’d offer them
Koufos for TPE + rights to Fran Vazquez
ORL generated a $1,843,017 TPE in their trade with WAS .. the difference between Arenas and Rashard Lewis’ giant salaries. Koufos fits snugly in at $1.3 mil, and is a rare combination of size and financial restraint — a good thing with ORL well over the lux. Kahn picked up the team option on Koufos for 2011-12 at $2.2 mil, so the extra year would fit ORL and also clear a bit of roster glut next year for us..
Now its no guarantee that Fran Vazquez will ever come over to the NBA — in fact, its likely he will never do so. Supposedly, the small-town Spanish kid saw the big city lights of America, and was overwhelmed. However, sitting next to Rubio all year, talk has to drift to playing together in the NBA, and having a buddy would have to make the odds better than they would be in ORL. I think Koufos’ value is only slightly above his contract, and I’d rather take a longshot gamble on a better player.
They found the following from Sheridan's chat:
Gabe (Toronto)
Just off the Magic's blockbuster deals, where are they looking for a backup center? Or can someone slide over to the 5?
Chris Sheridan (2:23 PM)
It's Earl Clark for now, and Otis Smith has said he expects to find another big somewhere out there in the next month. But there aren't many available. Assuming D.Milicic and N.Pekovic get healthy son, Kosta Koufos might be the most getable 7-footer around.

Darko for Riddick? Horrible, horrible move.
Discuss Pekovic, but Darko will not be moved for a rotation wing.

He's also been really horrible offensively in some games. Also I just don't think that he has what it takes mentally to succeed on the highest level (ditto Beasly, but at least he doesn't have confidence problems).
I just think that if there was a 80-90% chance of Fran coming over, that would be an interesting possibility.

I like that trade, but I doubt they'll bite on Koufos.

You'd have to not be a fan of the Timberwolves to think Kahn/Rambis would consider such a trade.

I think this Clippers game is the biggest reason why Darko is untouchable right now. Outside of him and maybe Tolliver the team has no defence in the front court.
The more I see Darko out the more I'm sure Pekovic has no real place here. He's just never going to fill what the team needs from it's backup centre with guys like Beasley and Flynn on the perimeter.

And Wolves are winning this game with Darko, right? When did he became Bill Russell?
Looks like we're gonna need to fire Rambis sooner than later.
Anyway back to my point with Fran, Rubio needs an athletic big who's good in pick-and-roll game. Fran fits that bill, Darko doesn't.

And forget about defense for a minute. Did you see any offense out there? Cause I sure as hell didn't.

Darko played 4 minutes, and was a +2 on the court. So yes, we WERE winning with Darko.

This really shouldn't have had to be explained.

I know this wont offer anything to the fruitfulness of this debate but when I saw the trade proposal this was my immediate reaction:

Koufos for Earl Clark
