10 man rotation with Tolliver back

Reports are in that Anthony Tolliver is running at full speed and his ahead of his 6-8 week rehab schedule. Lets assume he is back by mid January, the Wolves would have a set 10 man rotation through to the All-Star break which is 24 games away. Now that Flynn and Webster are healthy, the minutes with Tolliver back should look something like:

PG - Ridnour - 28-32, Flynn - 16-20
SG - Wes - 26-30, Webster - 8-12, Brewer - 8-12
SF - Beasley - 34-38, Webster - 10-14
PF - Love - 38-42, Tolliver - 6-10
C - Milicic - 24-28, Pek - 12-16, Tolliver - 6-10

Over the last 4 games, Brewer is averaging 14 mins, and the majority of those mins are in the 4th quarter, seems like Rambis is comfortable with him on the floor in crunch time. If Wes keeps shooting well, his minutes will eat into Websters. It will be interesting to see if Tolliver and Pek are left to fight for mins at the Backup Centre spot. Beasley and Love should get around 40 mins per game.

I think Tolliver's minutes will come from reducing the minutes of Love and Beasley. Those two had to log 40+ min regularly in his absense. I think it way too much, especially for Love who gets hammered under rim every game.

True about Love and Beasley playing too many minutes. I guess if they each played 35ish, that frees up another 10-15 minutes for Tolliver and Webster. This also depends on how active the Wolves mamagement are in making a trade soon.

A few of his minutes will come from Love and Beasley, but he'll also probably eat into Pek's minutes at the backup C spot.

So probably more like:

PG - Ridnour - 28-32, Flynn - 16-20
SG - Wes - 26-30, Webster - 22-26
SF - Beasley - 32-36, Brewer - 12-16
PF - Love - 34-38, Tolliver - 10-14
C - Milicic - 24-28, Tolliver - 10-14, Pek - 8-12

With Koufos, Ellington and Telfair getting garbage minutes.

I'd be ok with that, except that I'd rather drop Brewer and give his minutes to Webster, Johnson, and Tolliver.

I wouldn't drop Brewer but I'd limit him to about 12 minutes. In theory it'd leave plenty of minutes for the rest of the guys.

I 2nd this. And bump Darko's minutes up to 30 and take them from Pek or Tolliver depending on matchups.

yeah Darko needs at least 30 and if healthy maybe even 32. Love should be around 33-34 (keep him fresh)

Foul trouble will keep Darko from going over 30 mpg.
Tolliver should see more minutes next to Love, he compliments Love well on defense, he brings pure hustle and agility even if they lack a little size. There's little time left for Pek, actually Kosta can take those spot minutes. I'd move Pek for expirings and 2nd rd pick. Kosta is cheaper.

PG - Flynn - 30, Ridnour - 18
SG - Wes - 20, Webster - 24, Brewer - 4
SF - Beasley - 36, Johnson - 8, Brewer - 4
PF - Love - 38, Tolliver - 10
C - Milicic - 30, Pekovic - 10, Tolliver - 8

Telfair and Ellington suiting up for extra minutes due to foul trouble/struggles.

Injury reserve: Hayward, Koufos and Gaines

Rambis said he doesn't know when Tolliver will be ready to play -- he strained a knee ligament on Dec. 3 at San Antonio -- but you can bet it will be well ahead of that "late January" date the team's injury updates have been reporting.

Conceivably, it could be as early as sometime this week.

I think that might be a bit of a stretch, but it's good to read. We've missed him.

Very glad to hear this report. Tolly is so much better at being mobile on D, and he just brings a sweet intelligence to the game.

Prediction: Webster and Tolliver on the court together becomes a common sight.

What's your problem?

I'd still like to see Pek get minutes. I feel like between quick fouls and injury that I still haven't seen what he can do. I know he's getting paid well to struggle right now, but I've seen some flashes of a really good backup C. I want to let him play and see what has before I give Tolliver (who I consider an energy-based journeyman) his extra minutes. We may have a better shot to win with Tolliver in the game, but right now player development has to win out over a couple of extra W's.

I think we need to start trying to win though, Some of these guys have seen too much losing and are getting used to it. Time to start going for the W at all costs.
