Wolves made an inquiry to Rockets on Aaron Brooks, dangling Jonny Flynn, league sources tell Y! Conversation went nowhere.

Good luck getting anything better than a meatball sandwich for Flynn now, Kahn.

Aaron Brooks? You gotta be kidding me. He would make our already mediocre defensive squad even more mediocre defensively.

Really? He's certainly not worse than Flynn.

He still sucks. We need someone who actually plays defense.

I'd be surprised if we get a decent return for Jonny right now.
With Curry, Holiday, Collison, Lawson, Roddy B & Maynor on the board our GM had to be the idiot who wanted Flynn.

While I'm not in love with Brooks, he's at least a good offensive player and would give us a PG who can play on one end of the court - that would be one more than what we currently have. The other piece that's curious to me is that Brooks I belive is a RFA after this year - we would basically be dumping Jonny's guaranteed money. Not sure what the point is there. I would rather trade Jonny for a late first than an expiring contract.

why would the conversation have gone nowhere? Was he asking for other stuff too? Flynn would be great value, he doesn't have an extension looming and as bad as Flynn is shooting right now, its still markedly better than Brooks.

Weren't the Rockets the one that offered any two players on their team for Rubio?
Kahn probably called and offered Flynn for Brooks but Morey only wants to talk Rubio.
I'd rather have Lowry than Brooks but Kahn seems obsessed with Oregon players.

Houston's GM may have access to our game film and actually watched Jonny play....that might be enough for me. That being said, I would agree that there are worse options for a backup than Jonny Flynn. I would like to see the Wolves just bite the bullet and give the kid 30 minutes a game to get it going again. It's in him to play well, we're just not doing a good job of getting it out of him.

People are saying this about a lot of Wolves players right now. Not sure how true it is for any of them.

Brooks led the league in 3s made last year, so you could make the argument that he's a much better shooter.
Houston probably asked for a pick or something as well.

Exactly. As down on Flynn as some may be he is still a much better player than he is currently showing. Even last yr he looked much better even with his rookie ups and downs. He is just all sorts of out of sync and uncomfortable right now. Whats the worse thing that can happen if Luke looses some extra minutes the next few games? We loose? We've been loosing. They've got to get Jonny somewhat back on track (even if his track is destined to be a bust or heads out of town) before they do anything. He has hit rock bottom and this is not an accurate measure of the player Jonny is or will be even for those with a very bleak outlook on his future.

When I hear the word dangling, i think of a turd. So, from my perspective, the use of the word 'dangling' is quite apt.

I just don't understand why you would reward a young who has been playing poorly by giving him more minutes without him earning it. Just to get his trade value up? Flynn came back from injury and got Telfair's minute which I don't really mind because Bassy is probably off this team one way or another next year but you can't just give him Luke's minutes for no reason.

Big mistake trading Flynn now. Rondo looked as bad as Flynn does now with a similar number of games played. He's super quick and has a great handle. I hope we let him develop.

No. Rondo was always a plus defender, he never looked "bad" overall.

true but thats what we said w/ Foye and McCants, eventually you just have to accept that the 2 or 3 good games that they put up before their injuries were just flukes and that they arent that good
